Bit rough. Did you watch the game? All three had their worst games of the year. But i can understand your anger. Hope this loss strengthens the boys.
Yeah sorry mate, gutted but proud of our season.
Can‘t single out individual player though. Simpson coached well and had our guns well covered.
Catch you next season.

Sidebottom probably the most overrated player when it counts.

Nowhere to be seen.

Pendlebury is finished, too.
Give yourself time before posting, that way you don’t get insulted

I think a lot of things went right but the engine absolutely failed today - something I never expected.
We lost by a goal and our midfield just didn't turn up.
We find new ways to lose GFs no matter the personnel. That said it was a positive year and we have something to build on.

The difference was we haven't learned that kicking the ball long down McGovern and Barrass throat all day long won't win you the game.
3 times this year same story and again today.
Probably the worst game I have seen Grundy play, Howe was not fit and shouldn't have played and Goldsack was beaten to a pulp again. Small things make a big impact I guess!

Yes those games v GWS, Richmond, other finals.

He had a very credible opponent today, couldn't do the business, his net score in finals and GFs is terrific.

Too lose the way we did is going to take me a long long time to get over.
I’m just gutted to get so close and lose it right at the death.
Being a collingwood supporter is so bloody hard sometimes
We were slowly losing it over 3 quarters. Today highlighted that KP players not only steady the ship, they steer it in the right direction.

Seriously?

They absolutely torched us in the air. Proved the match-winner.

Yes seriously.

I agree that we were torched in the air and that McGovern intercept mark at the end wasn't great, but that's not our game and in the end it came down to a scrubby kick out of a heavy contested ball situation in our forward line which we couldn't run back to defend that lost us the game.

All game long we were struggling to both run back to defend after turning it over and push up to present when going forward - blokes were walking with hands on hips for most of the second half.

Feel free to disagree with that as much as you like mate.

You can isolate it. It was a free that was not paid that gave them a shot on goal.
Yeah, but they had been employing such tactics all day and 99% of the others weren’t paid either. Not setting Hoskin-Elliott’s mark right on half cost us just as much too,

3 massive moments in my eyes that cost us

WC first scrubber goal, had to kill that ball over the line. Brought them back into the game, gave them hope when they were shaky.

Adams kicking the ball across ground in defensive 50, being intercepted. Does this once a game. when do you learn?

Grundy giving free away in centre square after we kicked first 2 goals of the last. They kicked a goal from it. Killed our momentum

Or the JDG play on from the pocket, needed to go back and nail it.

The Maynard winding incident for them a little wind in the sails.

Vardy and Darling stepping up to help Kennedy.

Hoskin Elliot kick after the siren falling short.

That was a really disappointing result in the end but it is what is is. I’m so proud of the boys and the club for an unbelievable season and they gave it their best shot but we’re just beaten by a better side on the day. We’ll be back again next year to finish of what we started in 2018.

Yes. That is the point I was making Thank you.
It's simple. All year we played selfless football and that last play by Degoey when he marked and played on was the most selfish football played all year. He could have handballed over the top, but his hot head tried the impossible, I love him and he will be a champion of the game, but he must learn from that error

I am going to say it, I told you so, lost it at the selection table plus a few players having their worst game ever.

All fair points.

Everything being equal if we had Scharenberg over Goldsack and Dunn healthy, likely we better off about 6 or 7 points or so at least.
Just doesn't work that way does it alas.

They won it in the air.

You didn't watch the game if you think otherwise.

Appreciate the (mostly) measured discourse after such a shattering loss.

Just wish we were a bit smarter in that last quarter. We weathered the storm for 10 mins when WCE kicked all those behinds and then were able to get it down our end with about 5 mins to go. With 3 mins to go I’m not sure why we went backwards. Not gonna bother whinging about the Maynard non-free because there are plenty of decisions that go both ways
