From the outset of the finals Adelaide were the pick of the 5-8 group. But still not in the same class as Hawthorn. We would start clear favourites at home against Adelaide.

You really don't want to play us , do you ?

No I don't. Lots of other Eagles fans say bring it on, I say hell no. I think the stakes are too high for the loser, I know it's the GF, & stakes are high no matter what, but I couldn't handle losing to you guys, and I'm sure you're the same with us, whether you think we could win or not.

The only good thing would be the Victorian tears, and the subsequent inquiry into Victorian Football, but I personally couldn't handle the pressure. Plus I think playing a side like the Hawks, who've had to travel here twice in 3 weeks, would be more benefitial than playing another well rested side. I also reckon the Hawks are slowing down, and some of their efforts against us looked like a team not 100% committed or hungry, and you guys would be after 2013.

Tell ya what, we'll have this year, you guys can have next year, ok, deal, done, I'll inform the AFL.

Nah, nah, not that easy Mike.
I really, really want to get you lot on the MCG.
We need to get this sorted out once and for all.

The long range forecast for the Fri of the prelim is torrential rain.It just couldn't happen could it:(
The forecast i looked at says there's a 10% chance of showers.....so I guess it will either be the biggest storm of the year, or 28 degrees and sunny ;)!!
I dont mind us in the wet against Adelaide....It likely would stop some of their run and carry football...

Either way we better play Taberner!

I kinda hope it doesnt rain given how brutal our last wet game against Adelaide was. Sore bodies everywhere. We might get to see Fyfe v Danger again though!

I like your forecast better,so I'll go with the sunny part. Its a night game but what the hell.:D

Hawks... we beat them and it will lift our confidence for the final.
I 'liked' this because it's true. It would be a huge confidence builder.

But if still prefer Adelaide! Would feel so much more confidence against them. Having said that I think we should be able to beat anyone here.

Would look forward to the Eagles at the G though!

If the hawks forward-line is as cooked as it looked against WC then I think I'd rather we play them.

Probably Adelaide - only because of the extra travel factor. If they beat Hawks they will be damn tired from a 6 day break then they will have to go back to Adelaide then fly back to Perth

Although I think if we get the Hawks we will be pumped after what Mitchell did and want it more. Plus they looked out of sorts against the Eagles. If they thought the Eagles crowd was bad, they've got another thing coming with our mob. We will be relentless. Mitchell will be targeted massively (so will Hodge, hopefully - and maybe Puopolo after he tried to take out Sandilands only to receive a bump from the big fella that sent him flying)

At the end of the day I don't care as we can take either

Hawthorn for me. Knock over hawthorn on the way to a flag and we'd be the undisputed premiers. If they don't make it we'd forever be known as a team that had an 'easy' run to the grand final, and that we were never good enough to beat the 'best team' in it.

I'm with this guy. The connotations of a victory for either team are just too great to miss this chance to have this game in these circumstances. Either team not making it will be an absolute tragedy for story telling.

This is one of the reasons why I'd be happy to see Crowley back in the side. Last time was Fyfe & Danger at 100% fitness spurring each other on to be the best on ground. With Fyfe's leg I can see him trying too hard to keep up with Danger and potentially hurting himself more, or not being able to get back up to decent fitness for the GF. Same with Hawks. They know Fyfe's injured, and will snipe at it because they are dirty campaigners.

Crowley being in will nullify Danger or Mitchell's influence, and he used to do a decent job of keeping the snipers under control.
