There are so many discussion points here.
Ross Lyon obviously is a massive fan of keeping the 22 as stable as possible in the knowledge that everyone knows their role and also what the others around them are doing. Is he wrong? (although noting that Roo being out does affect the theory).
Is player X really not contributing (just becuase they make the odd blooper)?
Is VFL player Y playing at a level that demands inclusion into the team, and there is a player in a similar role in the AFL who is out of form?
Does VFL form translate to AFL form?
Does Ross' tendancy to play the guys out of position when he brings them in make it harder for them? (Jack, Gears and Eddy are all massive ball-winners in the VFL but often have been tried as defensive forwards in the AFL).
Do we mark guys too harshly when they come into the team? I thought Eddy was pretty handy last week in 59% TOG but others thought he should be the first one dropped (despite us playing at Subi this week which will need all the hard runners we've got)?
Do we all have the odd player who will never be considered a good AFL standard, but the coaches rate more highly (maybe becuase of their fitness or ability to match up on different players or an ability to stick with the designated structures)?
