I can't help but read the negative responses, especially like this over dramatised one and wonder if people really mean them or just say it to hide behind a veil. I agree there is a whole lot of ignorance in banners like this, but without actually learning more about it, it's also pretty hard not to feel a whole lot of hatred to all things Islam in today's day and age.

BTW This comment bears no reflection on my opinion on Islam nor this banner, it's purely an observation of the responses.

It would be just as justifiable to say "burn the churches" but I think most of us are tolerable of catholicism enough not to think about doing that, despite the fact that it has caused more damage to people on our shores than Islam. Why can't the same respect be afforded to muslims and their places of worship?

I mean if it were up to me and I magically could do it I'd get rid of all the religious institutions but they're here and they're not going away soon so I'll respect people's beliefs and I won't tar every person of a particular faith with one brush because of the actions of a few.

The people who put this sign up... their actions can scarcely be justified.

Those details should be passed on to the AFL who should investigate and ban them for a very long time.
