My WC team (if everyone fully fit):

Warner(must improve though)
Finch
Watson
Clarke
Smith
Bailey (also needs to improve)
Haddin
Maxwell (must be bowling well or Doherty/Boyce come in)
Johnson
Starc
Harris
Warner just needs the other batter to slap him across the face every couple of overs when he starts to hit out to calm him down.

The commentators only a few minutes ago were carrying on about how he has every shot in the book.

Well, he kind of does.

Whether or not they always come off without a fieldsman catching it is another matter, but he's got some talent.

I just find it weird how personally people take the failings of Maxwell, Watson, etc. as batsmen (Brad Haddin has received similar criticism in the past for his batting and keeping, as did Mitchell Johnson during his erratic bowling periods), trying to make them out to be terrible human beings just because they manage to get dismissed during a cricket match.

I don't watch cricket during the off season in Australia, but I can't remember seeing Maxwell bat well. Ever. I must miss all his brilliance because it seems whenever I hear an expert or commentator talk about him they just gush. I don't get it.
He goes OK at swinging for the trees in IPL & Big Bash entertainment shite that means little in the grand scheme of things. Done #### all else with the bat. His brain won't allow him.

Good to read us all fessing up about Smith.

thought he was gunna be a fair one day player, but seems he can play all forms of the game.

I like tonights effort. Out of sorts, had luck, but is still not giving it away and trying to bat to the end of the innings.

Good news story is Smith

He always had the temperament, hunger and work ethic. Just had some technical issues to work on.

Early in his career he was told to bowl leg spin and they were trying to turn him into a leg spinning allrounder. He was always a batsmen that could bowl a little bit but the selectors just thought because he was a blonde leg spinner that he would be the next big thing. Now they are allowing him to just be a bat he is flourishing.

Have to say, I'm sick of seeing players walk off after a good innings as though getting out is the single worst thing ever.

You played a good innings, your team is going to win, stop sooking.
Depends if he got castled by an unplayable ball or gifted his wicket away i guess

Oh, I appreciate that they are fantastic talents that I could never live up to but sometimes people get praise they haven't earnt.

Maxwell is still a certainty for the WC squad.
Yes, no doubt. Averages 30 at a strike rate of 121. That is terrific. Just out of touch. Shit, imagine a batsman having a bad trot. Surely that doesn't happen....lol!!! That plus his bowling makes him a certainly. His shot was dumb, just like some of the opinions on him
