Westerns making a late push, can they go all the way..?
And are the 'Mere's just having a slum or are they still a genuine contender?

Don't know if just the one player will make the difference mate, going down to Westerns, who went to pretty comfortably to Coleraine on the w/e... will take more than 'g-dog' come next week....

So we have Tyrendarra through to the Grand Final

Coleraine vs Dartmoor this weekend at Heywood. Who is going to book their spot in the big one against the Darras?

My money is on Dartmoor...have been strong all year and I think that have too much class for Coleraine. Should be a tight game

Just hope its better than the Westers Coleraine game last week, the breeze was causing havoc with skill errors galore!

Sorry guys...radio said on Sunday night that the prelim was at Heywood. Before being changed to westerns the other night.

Who is everyone tipping? Think it will be a tough game?

really looking foward to the grand finals this weekend, selections could be intresting for the darras with dan andrew likely to come back in? and jezza morton should also be a chance to get back in. be intresnting to see if matt cameron gets the call up after playing in the 2's last week for dartmoor.
Everyones tips for the weekend? and your best on ground medalist?
ill go darras by 5 in the seniors and shay rhodes for the medal
and in the 2's westerns by 3 points and brett egan for the medal.

anyone know the umpires for the weekend yet?

Should be an interesting to see who both sides go with at the selection table...both teams coming off good wins so wouldn't expect too many changes.

Tips
Seniors
Tyrendarra by 20 points and either one of the Clark's for the medal
Reserves
Tyrendarra by 36 points and David Groten for the medal

hopefully should see two very intersting competitive games!

Steady up princess. I never said that it matters where your from. couldnt care less really
Just noticed that you only filled in a couple of the questions, no mention of most expensive team etc.
if the boys from heywood are any good they will be getting a lot more votes than him, and if they dont then bw are in real strife, especially given how many dollars are being handed around.
if ash rose, troy lovett and matthew sailor all dont get a lot more votes as him i would be shocked. And if he does finish even in the top 10 I will publicly apologise on this forum :)
...?
I think Len came 3rd in the Branxholme b&f, behind Cameron and Tier (both not Heywood boys).

3rd in the bw best and fairest is a loooonnng way off top 10 in the league.
When you call someone out make sure you get it right.
Why didnt you also bold the part that said if they dont get a lot more votes than him bw are in real strife. and they were. they finished 6th by default
i think people in the league would agree that sandford and cavendish were witches hats this season so no competition there
and they were 18 points from 5th and just a little bit of percentage
absolutely nowhere near finals

Long way off the last two years performances... haha

Yeah sorry for the bolding mistake, I did actually read it wrong, my bad.
Just short of what Branxholme was expecting this year I think, but defiantly a step in the right direction. where did you get your info on the Heywood boys borda player? I would have maybe thought Sailor to poll higher, but I think Rose and Lovett spent a fair bit of time in the 2's at Heywood last year.

Speaking of Heywood, anyone got news on their move?

And, finally, congrats the Dartmoor on the good season, and great finish in the Granny. anyone know who was BOG?

Simon Jones was BOG, as well as being the player of the finals for Dartmoor. Josh Woodall won the B & F

So where are we for 2012.....
Who will coach where?
What impact will Heywood have?
And who will be the big improver??

heard that former lions captain and b&f winner nick johnstone is returning to coach the club after a season at south warrnambool on a big pay packet...

sorry guys must have been miss informed, how big are the signings of james imbi and john bell for the lions? if they can lure back some of the guys that have left the club in previous years to play south west back they will be almost assured a flag!! good luck to the lions i say

I must say that I enjoyed the article in today,s Portland Observer about the Heywood coaching appointments. Keegs really summed things up in saying that there is a lot of comments on Heywoods recruiting , both positive and negative but the league will benefit as the other clubs will need to step up which Tyrendarra and Dartmoor are doing , both having recruited well , so far. We agree that the inclusion of Heywood has breathed much enthusiasm into the SWDFNL and cannot wait for the season to start. I have been told of some more signings of returning players for Heywood and am impressed with their process but their budget and player payments are their business only. The other 8 clubs need to endevour to match Heywood with facility improvements , player welfare , junior developement , vibrant social events etc.

Looking forward to seeing the Tyrendarra coaching panel announced when complete and the new recruits as they seem pretty handy.

Any news from the other S/W clubs?

Adam Hawke, Josh Marnell and Hayden Dyke have all resigned with Westerns. I believe they are still looking for another assistant.
Club is disappointed to see Stevo leaving, but hope he returns in the future.
Look like retaining a lot of thier young, exciting list and announcing a number of recruits in the coming weeks.
