great day yesterday for the cobras, more improvement to come but a great team effort, specially considering the wind on the hill made kicking impossible haha

lyndale had three reports in the senior game, one red card a yellow card and a report, from what i understand the first 2 reports will accumulate a few weeks out and the third was for nothing i understand. the game was played in good spirits other than the 2 incidents. they will be strong, suffered a couple of bad injuries but good luck to them.

a few interesting results from the weekend, well done dragons, makes for a good week next week haha

how did your coach perform ??:) and see you next week :D

coach was really good, road every bump but thats how he is, no one expects him to be something hes not, yeah he yells from the bench but everyone listens when he speaks, thats why he gets so much from us, will be a great week next week

Hi cobra, how did new snake Dan go? Next weekend will be huge especially both teams coming off great wins. Will be one of the better rivalries going around and Thoi Short Diversity Cup will again get some interest from the head hunchos from SFL and the community...should be a cracker, can't wait...

Rest of you boys, come on, play nice, let's not start name callings etc...we all love getting out there for a kick and we play footy for the enjoyment of it with our mates, don't take it to heart, loyalty to your club is understandable but attacking each other on an open forum lowers your standards...keep it real and keep it civil...good luck on the track this week as the weather turn cold, big games next week...good luck...let the madness begin...:)

haha that kinda reminds me of a former coach of doveton :D
was very short tempered which got him in a spot of bother, lets hope you dont have a poor game or he could explode!!! It is div 3, you're gonna be on the end of some ordinary umpiring at stages.. hope he can keep his frustrations to his players

Lol, not too sure about that... I wasnt to bad, but still got alot of work to do. Thanks for the kind words though!

Kreppy is a very good player, he was easily lyndales best player. Lyndale will get stronger throughout the year and i believe they have a few players to come back in. Its only round 1!

Story written in the dandenong paper today:
http://dandenong-leader.whereilive.com.au/sport/story/recruits-star-for-sandown/

Interesting to see the gap between Hampton (last yr div 3 winners) and Springvale (Relegated from div1) was only marginal. Also with mount only just losing both of their practise games (although only praccy games) against two divvy 2 sides....

Have to agree with Inure, the club has been mis managed for years and I don't see this year being any different.

They have always been there about with wins and losses but the club has been very weak in disciplining players and the general culture for years.

Now before everyone starts on me I had a mate who coached their for a year and tried to make the changes and was shafted because he tried to change the club.

From what I hear the same people are still involved off the field = NO CHANGE :)

Dex...it's not all about booze man...our license had some issues so we couldn't sell it that day...and we cop inspections all the time so better not make the cash than having a massive fine, we'll have booze for you to purchase next time around...make sure you buy some...:thumbsu: thanks mate.

first things first notice you are not flying high after round one
second i am not dragging doveton through the mud they are wallowing in it:D and i sure as hell didnt put them on that path:D blame the lack of disicline, culture, non leadership, people in positions of running the club ,coaches ,that have let there players run amok on the :footy: field:D finally it came to a head last year we all know what the results where:eek: now we have supposed players getting on the forum and posting as though they dont give a shit about everything that has happened in the past:eek: same old culture:D so just maybe there current coach and people in charge of the club:) will talk to the players and let us see the changes happen:) and i will stop posting negative things about doveton:cool: and your cause was not helped when in the very first game the seniors play there is a report some things just never change:D ..............i have only been down in this divvy for 2 years and i have been told all of the above from other players from different clubs all with the same old stories:D about how doveton players go the fist when things go against them:eek: let us hope the bad apples are gone and these 2011 crop of doveton players can get some positive feed back from football clubs they play against this year:) hope you have success in this department:) i shall now sit back and listen and see first hand if there is any change :)

Just some points if I may -

I agree that the club has a culture issue, this is not helped by the name...DOVETON.

I am able to say in speaking to past and current players that I am unaware of any coach at Doveton instructing or allowing any players to go out and hit anyone.

What needs to happen and hasn't happen is when this occurs the club needs to also add their own discipline to this to ensure that this does not occur again.

As for the bad apples gone I believe the club has the same list bar a couple of players.

From what I have been told the same people who ran the club last year are also still there so I will assume that there won't be any changes.

But I agree we should give them a go and see where this goes.:D

Hi boys..I realised that inureface likes to voice his opinion and sometimes strong opinion on the rest of the competition, just want to put out a reminder that I have no idea who he is and who he plays for, as you all know, people use allias on forums like this and sometimes they represent or miss-represent a club, I'm not saying Inureface isn't a Dragon, but I can't say that he is a Dragon either, regardless of which, this is his opinion only, it doesn't represent that of the Southern Dragons Football Club, and you should be taking that into consideration.

As a committee member of the Dragons, and a senior administrator of the club, I'd like to say that as a club we have the highest respect for all of our competitors in this division. It is a very difficult task running a football club.

All that said..."play on!!!"

Where are all the Mount people what happened?? Not very smug when you lose guys what happened to all the hype???Ha ha

ok jp lets just play footy focus on cobras this week no more talk about doveton hope that makes every one happy:)

Lets get onto more positive things about the divvy in Round 2.

Sandown v Southern Dragons - interesting match ahead, my tip would be Sandown just by 8pts.

Dandenong v Lyndale - Dandenong will be too strong for the rebounding 'dales 25pts.

Mt Waverley v Moorabin - The Roos in this one by 31pts, impressive game by Haydo & Schipper, can the Mounts prove otherwise?

Doveton Eagles v Endeavour Hills - even tho Dovetons win was marred by a few colored flashcards, having them play instead of a bye, can only be good for the comp, again on the proviso they play the game. Against the new boys on the Power Road block tho Falcons to upset by 16pts.

There is a whole new board and president running the show, who are these "same people" 1 has gone from pres to coach but is a great bloke, not a thug telling people to play "unfair" footy, thats just bizzare.
The coach, pres and commitee have put in guidlines which will deter players from doing anything stupid or they simply will not play football.

(the report from the first game was self defense as the clown was charging at him) :thumbsu:

Sandown v Southern Dragons - Dragons in a close 1.. only guessing, very interested to see the outcome of this game :D

Dandenong v Lyndale - If Lyndale is ANYWHERE near as good as what has been put on here, they cannot lose to the dandy side that played doveton last week, hopeless

Mt Waverley v Moorabin - another close game on the cards... Mount to bounce back?? lol

Doveton Eagles v Endeavour Hills - Doves by 6 or 7 goals

Agree with most of what you have said. However the new committee is completely new and only who person on the board had a position last year. None of the 4 coaches are there this year that ran the show last year and the new committee will make sure repeat offenders are punished. Like use we just want to play footy :D
