With 5 rounds to go is the top 5 set or can South Yarra or endeavour sneak in? We've all seen everyone play some twice now, whose gonna start peaking and whose gonna be the pretenders?

Personally I think black rock will go out in straight sets

Endeavour Hills still have to play most of the top sides. If they make it in, credit to them. And if they do win a few of those, what happens at the top of that ladder is anyone's guess.

Black Rock on the other hand, only really have Mount Waverley and Endeavour Hills to combat. You say they will go out in straight sets, but they play the bottom 2 sides and have the bye, so they'd be favourites to finish on top of the ladder surely.

Popped my head into McDonald Reserve and caught the last half of the reserves and first half of the seniors.

Black Rock miss Dewar terribly, which is understandable, as he would be be in the top 5 players in this division. They weren't up against much, but previous results back this up.

The biggest thing that struck me was some of the players clearly not up to the level playing in Dandenong's Seniors, yet I saw their Reserves push a good Black Rock outfit all the way. I reckon at least 14 of those players should be in the 1's over some of the blokes they trotted out in the later game.
Even if they still had a (mathematical) chance to make finals in the 2's, it's a disgusting practice to still be stacking your Reserves sides year after year.

The club needs to have a good, hard look at itself.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I do believe you can still go out in straight sets after finishing on top and having the weeks rest?

Good point Tigris,Endeavour Hills can't make it based on that alone CPL,ASH,MBN & BR look like losses so you would think the 5 is set.Falc10 book your holiday in the funny farm for some much need treatment.

Spot on right Collo. Dandy have been doing it for years - 8 by my count - and look at where its got them. Success in the reserves at the expense of the seniors is very damaging to the culture of a club. EH have been slightly guilty of this - last year in the thirds, this year in the twos - but with their seniors well & truly in the mix it appears that they may have woken up to themselves and are now putting the best 22 available out in the seniors. Not doing this earlier in the season may end up costing them a spot in the finals due to those narrow losses...

You sure can. Doveton a few years back lost to Skye and then MW to go out in straight sets after being undefeated I believe? I've only seen them once, I wouldn't be counting on them going out that easily.

I don't believe I said EH can't make it at all. I said if they do make it, then the top of the ladder could be anything because EH will have had their hand in shaping how that went. EH v CPL this week would certainly tell how serious they are.

Please don't mention or relate us to dandy FC in anyway shape or form.

Balls of steel, 'are now putting the best 22?' ????? U actually been to a game this year dig? it's a bit of fun this forum no doubt but that's the most utter garbage to date..... Can you name who's come up? & gone down lol be less than 2. Funny how players come back from injuries but no mention of that ball of steel???

Pathetic.............. probably dandy member

BR would never stack there two's. The whole club has the usual mid-season injuries and outs. All teams are at half strength... if that. And if you'd stayed to watch the last half, it ended up a blowout. Get your facts right before you start talking smack.

Is it me or have you misunderstood his entire post?

Lyndales reserves premiership side from last year would of easily beaten the bottom 3 or 4 senior sides last year. But doesnt mean they stacked there twos, just means good depth.
After seeing black rock, e hills, sth yarra and cpl they clearly have good depth too.
I think the dandy situation is shit tho clearly they have guys like kaine bundy and number 8 who can be playing ones but choose to hide in the twos

Done it for years?? The club is 5 years old, our reserves have struggled for wins for those 5 years. Must have us confused for someone else pal

I'm sure all coaches have their favourites and there should be a lot of reserve players playing seniors

Ashwood over Sandown +36
South Yarra over Dandenong +22
Moorabbin over Hallam +62
Black Rock maybe
Mount over Lyndale + 39
CPL over Endeavour +29

Ashwood by 70
South Yarra in a knock out by 50
Moorabbin by 90 Hallam don't bother turning up
Mount by 10
CPL by 69

Scat,Scat..... Shoo,Shoo.... Get outa here

getting a bit sick of all this reserves talk... But i agree with you thunderman I am sure all clubs have blokes playing seniors who others feel should be playing ones. Can't make some one play in a side they dont want to and cant make a coach pick players others feel they should.

Ashwood by 47 points
Dandenong
Moorabin by 70 points
Mount by 27 points
CPL by 12 points

Black Rock vs CPL grand final based on what i have seen

TIPS for Round 14:
Sandown vs ASHWOOD - by 48 pts
SOUTH YARRA vs Dandenong - by 60 pts
Hallam vs MOORABBIN - by 24 pts
MOUNT WAVERLEY vs Lyndale - 50 pts
CPL vs ENDEAVOUR HILLS - by 24 pts

Mount to have a stinker in front of the sticks and get done by a straight kicking lyndale.
The kangas to be pushed by the hawks on their home deck.
Cobras to be beat by a record amount.
The inbreeds to lead all day but loose by a kick to carrum because thats what they know.
Dandy not to leave that crappy basketball stadium due to ground conditions.
