Said it before & if people still think this is a dragons problem you either have no business nous or really really slow lol

THIS IS A SFL PROBLEM. Now the fixture is f**ked, 20 odd blokes who probably want to play footy are in lingo (not their fault, they showed up to play) & more bad publicity for the SFL as a BRAND!!!

SFL should've done due diligence & investigated before approval back into the comp for season 2015. The SFL continually show 'weak' leadership & poor decisions when the hard call is to be made.

As for the dragons boys, I'm sure any of the SFL clubs would be happy to facilitate you games of footy!! love to have you guys down :)

We've been informed Southern Dragons have forfeited the seniors and reserves tomorrow.

We need this sorted ASAP, as it will ruin the fairness of the competition, especially with an already uneven draw.
They've withdrawn from the competition completely!

Have all the top sides played them yet? The percentage teams would of got from the win would almost be like wining an extra game!! Could have a big effect on who finishes where. If they are sporadically playing when they have the players teams that miss out will be spewing!!

CPL would be spewing they miss out on a massive percentage booster tommorow.

Unfortunately this is another setback for the comp, and will be interesting if we see the Dragons in action ever again.

Pretty piss poor imo.
Look at the ladders throughout the state and there are plenty of sides that are winless with worse percentage that aren't throwing in the towel.
I know clubs can forfeit two's games but crikey I cant remember a whole club calling it quits halfway through the season.

That high profile ex Dragons player (prez) was misguided by the then coach at the time, that a move to the VAFA would be in the best interests for the future of the club. Coach at the time also got players on side to his way of thinking & was voted unaminously.

Moral of the story: probably shouldn't guided by individuals (coaches)on the future of the club who only stay for a relatively short period of time i.e. 1 - 4 years

Moral of the story is they should have stayed in the VAFA, or better still not left the SFL in the first place. While it is obviously now an SFL problem I’m not sure they can be held accountable for what has occurred

Good on JP for setting the record straight. They were never induced to go to the VAFA, nor was it one man’s decision. Right or wrong the club as collective made the choice, first to leave and then to return to the SFL for what they thought was best for the club at the time. I doubt either decision was unanimous and as JP said there were pros and cons for each. Sadly it has not worked out and it seems a chronic lack of volunteers at the club to drive recruiting, sponsorship, communications etc is at the heart of the problem.

I assume % gained from games against the Dragons will be deducted to make it fair for all teams?

Nope. Its in the by-laws that teams against Dragons from here on will be credited the highest points FOR attained for the round by any team and lowest points AGAINST and percentage worked out from there.

Well then we are all stuffed as 95% of coaches only last between 1-4 years!

if a team forfeits the other team gets the highest score for the round vs the lowest score. so could get a higher percentage by not playing

Dragons scenario dont blame previous decisions, end of day players committed to play for the club in 2015 . Look no further than the weakness of the players in sticking it out. What, 44 players R1 have all disappeared somehow??, nah, they are still around the area they just don't have the fortitude or spine to collectively commit to something they started. Bet if they were competitive this year we wouldn't be discussing it, however apparently they think they are the first ever club to do it tough so they just have a cry and walk out of the joint, pathetically weak in my opinion

I watched that game today. Mount were putrid and the attempts to punch on at the end were hilarious.

The stories going around about Gough return. Just in time it seems.

Heard this last week too, not happy at Springy apparently?

Nah, no way Gough would walk out on Springy, I know the guy well and he will stick it out to the end regardless of any issues.

Granted the $$ got in the way of what he needed to deliver but he put his dummy away when he was 2 months old and he ain't spitting it now. He is better than that.

It is what it is lads.

Putrid due to the pressure being applied

So read nothing into the fact he was in a green and gold jacket and was assisting the benches in the 2's and 1's??

Could you be a bigger peanut?

But ive got bigger fish to fry...like the absolute predictable fall of Black Rock agasint teams that aren't Southern, Hallam or Dandenong. CPL next week South Yarra on the the postage stamp not long after. Could be sitting in prime spot to be disappointed once again come finals time.

Goughs going back to mount. . . Assisting all day 2s and 1s. Why would you do that if your at another club. . .
