'Used to scoring 10s, sadly The Half Back will have to settle for a 9½ in this season's edition of SpudQoach™.

Despite being commemorated in a touching memorial to his career some weeks ago, Halfy has returned from oblivion once he sniffed a possible SpudQoach™ win, and has enjoyed a dream run in the second half of the season, adding just a measly 16.2 SpudQoach™ points to his mid season score of 620.2 SpudQoach points while watching a pack field's scores balloon as inactivity and pron melting took it's toll on SpudQoach™ squads everywhere.

High scorer - Tigerturbulance - 85.4 SpudQoach™ points

Low scorer - miggs - 18.8 SpudQoach™ points

Why? - Selected his high scoring Furies skipper Tigerturbulance who not only was not a ruckman in Rd 16 last season, but would go on to have a huge season which saw him reclaim his former rucking glory, and contend for the TFLUA-Tiger Award for outstanding service to qooty in S29 :drunk:

Halfy found the absolute sweet spot this season between potting mates and trashing his teammates, and compiling a squad of low talent, even lower scoring gems across the competition. Selections like miggs and Quivorir were not only enjoyable but magnificently savvy, and making the former his captain saw him post the lowest captain total in competition history, with just 37.6 SpudQoach™ points coming from the double score, an all time record low. A few clangers like Papa Juggs who was fittingly dropped for favouring kimchi over qooty, and a resurgent boncer34 were probably the difference, but credit to Halfy where credit is due, his SpudQoach™ score this season would have seen him lift the cup in S28 and he has now well and truly established himself as a star of the SpudQoach™ competition.

A worthy runner up and is perfectly placed to go one better in S30 :thumbsu:

After a lacklustre effort in his first attempt at SpudQoach™ last season, Callums_Guns regrouped and came back roaring into contention in Season 29, quickly establishing himself as a force in the competition as he torched the field on his way to a competition record low score of 502.9 SpudQoach™ points at the halfway mark of the season. Leading by a comfortable 35 SpudQoach™ points from the second placed TheInjuryFactory after Round 8, Guns did see his score rise in the back half of the season as he added 85.2 SpudQoach™ points, however he mnanaged to maintain a handy buffer on the competition, as he finishes a comprehensive 48.8 SpudQoach™ points ahead of The Half Back in second place. This is Callums_Guns first SpudQoach™ win in just his second season as a Qoach in the competition.

High scorer - The Kingslayer - 141.2 SpudQoach™ points

Low scorer - LicoriceAllsorts - 19.6 SpudQoach™ points

Why? - Even the champs can make mistakes, and his selection of second season Dragons' nobody The Kingslayer was a real head scratcher, especially given he had essentially gone inactive mid way through his rookie season, if he even made it that far. Now the logic was sound, as AceAndy has a propensity to play inactive spuds well beyond their use by date, a fact further supported by gym4life inexplicably playing every game in S29, but this one was always going to hurt. :drunk:

Guns has clearly done his homework heading into the S29 edition of SpudQoach™, having carefully selected a who's who of spuds who somehow manage to fly under the radar and scrape their way into their side each week. Household names of yesteryear like Nuffers, Shermy, LicoriceAllsorts and Quivorir, combined with new age nobodies like StickyMick and gym4life, gave Guns the recipe for a squad the envy of market growers across the country. Their low output, combined with their respective Qoaches' stubborn willingness to play them even when they can't be sure they still possess their faculties let alone their BigFooty passwords, has seen Callums_Guns pull of a famous victory in the 17 Qoach strong field this season, as the competition nearly doubled in size between seasons.

So please, without further ado, let's melt some butter in a heavy-based saucepan over medium heat, add flour, add 1 1/2 cups of cheese, stir to combine, arrange one-third of potatoes, overlapping slightly, over base of baking dish, sprinkle with salt and pepper, sprinkle with remaining cheese and bake for 1 hour in congratulations of Callums_Guns, your S30 SpudQoach™ champion!! :thumbsu:
