Ins and outs since last we met:

St Kilda
In:
Roberton, Wright, McKenzie
Out: Savage, Fisher, Webster

Melbourne:
In:
O McDonald, Grimes, Vandenberg, Brayshaw, White, M Jones
Out: Bugg, Dunn, Lamumba, Salem, Wagner, Pederson

I have a split personality when it comes to this game. I think it's either going to go super well because that would follow the pattern, but St Kilda so I'm also inclined to believe this could be a painful day.

Stop Jesse and we'll stop Melb.

My annual pilgrimage to Melbourne for this game. Haven't been able to sing the club song for the last three years. Cmon boys. Make me proud.

Similar profiles. Saints have two more really old players playing, Melbourne have one more peak age player, both clubs have similar approaching prime age players and Melbourne have more really young players (especially in that 1996 demographic)

I want Billings and Sincs to remind everyone how classy they are today and I hope they have a high level of desperation and attack on the footy after a spell in the ressies.

This bracket have by and large had pretty disappointing years. (Honourable exceptions Membrey and Gresham obviously.) Especially watching guys of similar age or younger like Zach Merrett, Rory Atkins, Blakely, P Wright, Caleb Daniel, etc running around very effectively for other teams.

If one or two of these guys had a top performance today, I wouldn't actually care about the result of the game.

On recent form we will know whats going to happen within the first 10 minutes.

Melbourne are much better than the Dons so we need to be switched on from the start.

That's not true I don't think. We did not stop him last time and we beat them. Their avenues to goal are pretty plenty nowadays as well.

It's won in the midfield.

Fair enough but agree to disagree.
Think they'll have their hands full with our much improved multiple fwd options.

Do you think anyone's thought of giving them a shot of caffeine half an hour before the game?

I reckon you can usually tell after about 15 seconds. I think in most of our shocking games the opposition has waltzed out of the centre under no pressure and delivered it inside 50 at the opening bounce.

It happened against Essendon and I straight away thought "this is not going to be fun".
