Uncanny resemblance to Molly Meldrum.

Wow.. all else aside, he's not wrong.

Media's fault.

Timmy well it doesn't take long for the wheel to turn does it? Caro has come out with revelations (yes not claims) that Collingwood is drug central at the AFL.

As this has been put forward by Caro, using your logic, this must be true.

What are Collingwood going to do to root out this problem? Obviously it has been covered up for quite a while? Who has covered this up? Are drugs like tatoos at Collingwood, a part of the club culture?

Love to hear your thoughts now Timmy, that Collingwood have been outed as having a major drug problem.

Caro is out of control...

I don't know how she dares, and taking on the Pies may be the last time she does.

Great to see Gary Pert get on the front foot rather than brush this problem under the carpet. I applaud him for it.

Pert throws a few general sound bites out about recreational drugs being a worry for a lot of players and you applaud him "being on the front foot" and that he is "not brushing this problem under the carpet."

Every other sane person sees it as a desperate attempt at a pre-emptive strike to get the media hyenas off Collingwood's back now before more stuff starts coming out. But Caro has the scent for a story and isn't hunted off that easily. Maybe it is time for an Eddie phone-call to sort it all out.

& this article is not

"Collingwood should seriously consider sacking Dane Swan"

Yep

Well written article too. The club is clearly worried about him. No head in the sand stuff at Collingwood, they will attack the problem head on as they have in the past with off field issues, trading Tarrant and R Shaw, suspending Shaw (twice) and Didak, suspending Swan, and trading Wellingham.

Sacking is a bit extreme just yet but I wouldnt write it off if things dont change. Team is bigger than the individual.

Gotta wonder if it's culture with the amount of incidents over at Collingwood

Pleased to see that you lived down to my poor expections of you. It is always nice to have ones opinion of a posters character proven correct.

Lenny Hayes dropped out of the leadership group last year. What did he do wrong?
Lenny just wanted to focus 100% on his playing time as he knows he has a limited time left. There's absolutely no story there. I'm sure I know more about that situation than you. He's the most respected player at the Saints, but doesn't need to be in a nominal leadership position to exert any influence.

Time for a new Captain

so now wellingham was traded by the pies to somehow clean up their culture.

fair dinkum. talk about re-writing history. the bloke refused to come back to your club, moved to perth and asked for a trade back to a club in his home town. eagles being his preferred destination.

we were mad not to take him when he wasn't offered

Wow! Look at all the off-field issues at Collingwood! Must have a 'Heart of Darkness', right?:rolleyes:

What's quite amazing is that you, a supporter of a club with serious off-field issues for a long time (Didak, Swan, Tarrant, Beams, McCarthy (RIP), Johnson, Wellingham & Shaw off the top of my head) have the audacity to infest every St Kilda related thread on the main board constantly placing part of the blame for the player's behaviour on Riewoldt and those in charge at St Kilda and then it turns out now that the top brass at Collingwood have been tearing their hair out about players being out of control for some time! To let it get so far, the powers at be at Collingwood have obviously been handling things terribly by your incredibly high standards while you have loved giving advice to the Saints in the meantime at every opportunity about how they should have been handling their so-called scandals. You'll get no sympathy from Saints fans about this. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad but maybe you will at least learn a lesson.

For what it is worth, no fans should try and score points about other clubs and their discipline issues. Issues go across the board as clubs are full of young blokes with money and temptation. Why so many big footy posters seem to think otherwise is strange.

Great to see Gary Pert get on the front foot rather than brush this problem under the carpet. I applaud him for it.

Maybe Or did Pert rush to announce concerns, when they found out that Caro was going to release a story on the Pies drug culture?

If the drug culture is such a problem at Pies funny that hr chooses to announce it, as a story is being released on it.

Either way Timmy didn't take long to show there are problems at all clubs, irrespective of what journalists report.

Saints await your apology.

Never suggested that there was a story. My point was that just becouse somebody leaves the leadership group does not mean they did anything wrong. Used Lenny becouse nobody sane would believe he would do anything wrong.

But but Caro's a woman, just like Duthie. According to Timmy women are no danger at all to a Football Club.

Sexist Pig is Timmy.

But I admit I am surprised that Caro has gone all out for Collingwood. One of the following situations may apply

- She & her editors have lost the plot and she is relying on her usual shit gossip. Maybe they think that Pert's call gives them cover. If so I suspect that Eddie will teach her the error of her ways. I have a lot of respect for Eddie, he is without doubt the best club president in the AFL.

- Collingwood has given the ok on the sly in an attempt to fix a problem at Collingwood.

- She really has some proper info*

* And the world is about to end, damn Mayans

Too bad Caro, trying to sound like writer for a gossip mag didn't land you the big job at the HS afterall....
