Just wondering if anyone has a player in mind from the WAFL, SANFL, VFL or other state competitions that may be worth a PSD pick? I'm not talking about mid-twenty year olds, but younger players who may be going well in the league but for some reason have missed the boat at AFL level. An example is Matt Priddis- an Eagles rookie that won the Sandover Medal this year, has played very well in the WAFL for a number of years and is only 21. He was rookie listed last year and played a couple of games in '06. He would probably be in any other midfield rotation in the AFL. Any others?

I'd think there might be a few Coburg players looked at.

There are a few good signs from players at the club.

Al Neville had a solid year for Coburg and was a borderline rookie candidate last year (the spot went to Howat). Good insurance for Newman and Coughlan as a back-up centreman or mid-sized backman.

Jason Davenport from Geelong is a super-speedy wingman who was a late convert to football. Still a bit soft and kicking can be iffy, but has genuine pace and has shown a lot for a guy playing only his 3rd season or so.

Paul Rebeshini from Frankston is a skillful running backman with a bit of class, has had a good season and removed some of the doubts about being a bit soft and one-dimensional.

Daventport sounds like a Fiora clone. don't want a guy who is soft just because their fast.
Pretty much the same thing with Rebeshini, if there are doubts about toughness we don't want him, we don't want a soft team like that of Collingwoods.

I think Kuret and Mullins could be looked at from Coburg as well, Mullins is a Davey like forward who we could really benefit from hes also best mates with Richie Tambling.

What about Silvangi the defender from the VFL? I read an article on him in the West months ago and noticed he was often in the best players for (I think the Zebras?) his side. Have you guys seen him? A defender might be worth a risk for the Tigers, but other than that article and the fact I noticed he was often in his sides best I know nothing about him. He's Steve Silvagnis nephew I think?

I only saw about 2 Coburg games this year, but both times that Neville bloke definately stood out, and can't see the harm in taking him on. Seems a goer.

I doubt Mullins would be a chance.

Shaun Huy, Nick Carnell, Sam Robertson and Jake King from coburg will all be doing pre seasons with us.

someone has to have a punt with alistar nevillie his hard as nails with good get up and go. What about Aaron Edwards???
aaron edwards is probably the only one worth considering. i'd expect us to take a kid who missed out in the national draft. the uncontracted players this year are no good.
