Does anybody know the smallest amount of career games for a player who has played against each opponent? This answer will vary according to how many teams were in the competition at any time, but Tony Southcombe played 13 games for Carlton in 1977 and managed to face all eleven opponents during that time.
 
In Round 1, 2005, in the first quarter of Collingwood vs Western Bulldogs, Shane Birss kicked a behind. James Clement took the ball for the kickout and kicked to himself. He fumbled the ball off his fingers and it bounced through for another behind.

AFL Tables times the difference between both scores as 16 seconds, though from the video of the game, the difference between scores is about 11-12 seconds.

Has there ever been a shorter time between scores?

Does anyone know where you can find a list - year by year - of the final ladder positions of AFL teams after the completion of the final series (i.e. their final positions for the year not just at the completion of the minor round)? Been looking high and low for this and I'm staggered that I can't find it.

I don't know of a specific website.

I created an excel document of the very question you're seeking a few years back and update it every year.

1928 has a high percentage of close games -
26 out of 108 roster matches had a margin of 6 points or less = 24.07%

Cody Weightman kicked three goals in a little over four minutes last night (4:09 on the website), and I wonder, what's the quickest anyone's ever kicked three goals? Doesn't need to be their first three, it can be any burst of three.

Scott Lucas kicked three in 4:14 in the middle of his 7 goal final quarter in Sheed's last game as Essendon coach. Lance Franklin did it in 4:30 at the start of the second quarter on his way to thirteeeeeeeen. Brad Johnson's fairytale final quarter against Adelaide in 2008 gave him three goals in 4:43. That's the best I know so far, along with Weightman's.

Not as quick as above but Jake Waterman in the third quarter of this game, 3 goals in under 4 minutes of time, not sure on game time though.

Per some recent chat on this board about first kick/first goal achievers and the potential missed cases along the years.

With that in mind, is anyone able to generate a full list of players who kicked 1 goal or more on their debut?
And/or for post-1965, a list of players who kicked 1 goal or more in the match where they first registered at least 1 kick?

I'm not sure who has a database to generate these requests now that the late Ron is no longer with us. Hopefully someone can help out? Cheers.
 
Collingwood and Brisbane Lions currently sit outside the top 8 after the completion of 8 rounds/7 games. The only time they have both been inside the 8 is due to them playing in the bonkers Opening Round, in which only four games were played. Have any two previous grand finalists been outside the top 8 this far into the following season?
 
With top team Geelong currently 7-0 and bottom team North Melbourne at 0-7. I was thinking what is the longest time that the top team has been undefeated in first place on the ladder while the bottom team has the inverse winless record in last place?

From AFL Tables the longest I could find was 1929, where after 13 rounds Collingwood were 13-0 and North Melbourne 0-13, before the Kangaroos broke through for their first (and only win) over the Bulldogs in Round 14. The only other double figure example I could find was in 1955, where eventual premier Melbourne were 10-0 and bottom team St Kilda 0-10 after ten games.

1991 was pretty extraordinary as the West Coast Eagles were 9-0 and the Brisbane Bears 0-9 after ten rounds (one bye each), before the Bears beat the Swans in Round 11. Round 9 of the season saw West Coast beat Fitzroy by 99-points at Subiaco Oval, the Eagles 8-0 and the Lions 0-8 after this game before Fitzroy finally got off the mark against Geelong in Round 10. Fitzroy's 1966 season saw the Lions take until Round 15 to win their first and only game of the year, and after 8 rounds St Kilda's 8-0 record was the inverse of the winless Lions 0-8.

Are there any other seasons I might have overlooked, or anything similar in the WAFL, SANFL, VFL/VFA and TFL?

I have been able to find one example in the WAFL: in 1983 Claremont sat on top at 8-0 while Perth were on the bottom with 0-8 before round 9 saw Claremont lose and Perth win.
 
If a player marks the ball with a few seconds left in the final quarter and then just kicks it away after the siren (I.e Daniher last night), do they get a negative DE result of that kick?

Conversely, if a player kicked it to the umpire after the siren, would they get a positive DE stat?

So this does actually count as a stat? I've wondered about this before.
