On the sport here in Adelaide last night there was a report on Stenglein loading his gear into a car at crows headquarters. It said he is likely to go and West Coast is his only preference, and if it were Freo he would be staying in Adelaide. They then named Beau Waters as being involved in a possible trade.

Sh1t if he's loading his gear into a car - he must be leaving.

Saw the footage too, and will it probably is likely that Steinglein will leave the Crows I thought it was hysterical that the media were so interested in him "cleaning out his locker".

I would have thought it not uncommon for most if not all players to "clean" their locker at some point after the season, otherwise there's going to be some very dodgy smelling things when they get back from their break. :D

waters and 4th rounder

you've left your self open for some rabid WCE supporters to cut you down,

have a look on the adelaide board, most of them dont rate steiglein at all and swear till they are blue in the face that WCE dont want stenglein

but there are a few that will agree that he will be good for WCE

how do people rate waters against stenglein - up and coming midfielder against established tagger/midfielder ?

Zero incentive for West Coast to trade Waters. They want to increase their accountability, not swap it for an older version.

Hey, if you reckon you're good enough at stopping the opposition midfield & forwards, then by all means trade Waters.

No skin off my nose if West Coast want to think that they're gods when they're not. The rest of the league benefits.

The rest of league has certainly benefitted well from our lack of accountability the last few weeks.
There is more than one way to skin a cat, and I'll think you'll find most sides need to address their accountability when playing us before we need to think about doing the same.

It would appear that Woosha disagrees.

Not going to happen.

Waters is our next Woosha. We don't really need Stenglein as we have more than enough midfielders. Perhaps, as usual, the press assume all players want to return to their original state and, as Tyson has supposedly said he wants to come home to WA, they looked for a South Australian on our list. Next it will be Sammy Butler - and he's going nowhere either :)

Chad Fletcher said on radio last night that Tyson is a good mate of his. If Tyson does want to come, I would think a 2nd round draft pick and perhaps one of our midfielders not currently getting a game would do.

Thats why each year he's been there he's acquired another accountable type?

Chick, Waters....Stenglein.

i think people underestimate stenglein simply because he plays for adelaide

also lets face it Steglein isnt going to say anything about wanting to go home until he is told by WCE that they will try and get him.

i'm not even sure that he has annouced he wants to go home pure speculation (mind you its a bit like the stevens saga we all knew he wanted to leave)

also just becasue you have more than enough midfielders doesnt mean they are all good players
Adeliade had more than enough forwards and look where that landed us

Chick & Waters in 3 years. Stenglein is a rumour.

You will have to better than that. He also aquired 2 ruckmen, 2 small forwards, etc.........

I'm sure Adelaide would like something in return for Steiners. So they would be open for trade but will trade as aggressively as they can because he is a quality player. It's a fine line because Steiners would like to go to WCE and nowhere else. Do Adelaide miss out on any type of trade ala Port Power or do they accept the best poss scenario from WCE. OR more likely do they put a lot of pressure on the player(loyalty) and ask for him to resign if they can't get a FAVOURABLE deal.
Don't you just hate TRADE WEEK.

I think you're spot on right there. I see a lot of Crows games, and Stenglein is a very, very good footballer.

He may be a good footballer but WC would be stupid to trade waters for him. Id take waters everyday of the week. Hard, tough, talented and only 19.

So let me see if I've got this right.

Stenglein is seen putting his gear into his car.

From that we get.
1. He is leaving Adelaide.
2. He is going to the West
3. He will only go to West Coast.
4. If West Coast won't trade for him he will stay in Adelaide
5. West Coast want some of the action
6. West Coast will trade Waters for him

Nostradamus is alive and well.

I'd take Waters too, I'm just saying that I think people underrate Stenglein.

Our midfield quality is just fine thanks....

I personally would love to get Senglein, but it's all about what's required to make it happen.

Quite frankly I can't see this deal happening (for Watters) and am really struggling to see a deal the Eagles could offer for stenglein that the Crows would be happy with.....
