That reads like the last line of my termination letter....oh wait.

Mine read something about legal proceedings and paying back that missing money in full...

The Sterge Tonight team have always been excellent judges of talent and it was no different this season when we recognised our 4th placed rookie's early talent and drafted him into our superqoach team, we also know when the talent needs a helping hand and not ones to hold rookies back we released him from the team so that his full potential could be reached. Let's be honest though there are probably 2 standout EKA contenders this season then you can throw a blanket over any of the other 5 in the countdown for the minor placings but that doesn't make any of them any less worthy however with a late charge as has happened in seasons past we could see this rookie having a serious crack at a win. So on this Wednesday morning let's give a warm welcome to the studio, his initials may be BS however his answers are anything but, our 4th placed rookie and founder of #rednesday

ST: You have been posting up a storm for the Dragons so far, but tell the readers why you went with the Dragons in the end?

BS:
I spoke to a couple of the guys in the leadership group and it seemed like a good enough club.
The posters in the Dragons camp seem to be very laid-back, especially the crusty veterans. There's very little "back in my day..." going on, which is good. I was also told that the Swamprats were spammy losers that everyone hated, but they're not that bad. I prefer to be in a team that has a lot to say rather than... well... the Roys.

Also Hate and his graphics. I don't know if you guys in other teams check out our team thread very often, but Hate's graphics are the reason I get up in the morning. That and the fact that my bed is often a cardboard box covered in broken glass.

ST: A string of draws earlier this season has really put the skids on the Dragons season, how do you come back from that and have a genuine crack at being runners up again?

BS:
For starters, we really need to get iBeng back to his behind-kicking best. Needless to say a draw is one last-minute behind away from being a win.

ST: Let's be honest, the Dragons don't have much going for them where do you see yourself come season 24?

BS:
Hopefully not in my pants.

ST: How have you rated your rookie season so far?

BS:
Not too bad. I'm pretty happy with some of the games and it's fun reading through the game posts. I like playing in the midfield because I feel like I'm helping a bit more, but of course it's always a wrestle for those positions.

My games picked up once you dropped me from your fantasy team, which I can assure you were two completely independent things... and nothing to do with spite.

Posting wise, I'm enjoying the banter in many threads. My posts can sometimes be described as a bit spammy, especially with the greatest accomplishment in my life to date: #rednesday. That being said, I try to bring both teams into the thread as much as possible to keep the thread rolling. I've been mostly successful.

There's a big drive at the Dragons to contribute to the thread, it's finding that balance between spam and silence that's a little difficult. More poo-wee jokes seem to be par for course, so I'll need to work on that in the off season.

ST: If it's not you holding the EKA medal on Mobbs night then who will it be?

BS:
There's a LOT of good rookies around. Not so many great ones, though.

Maybe Tony Lynn 15, TheCoach16, MaxMinch or Fryer Tuck?

I would have said Scorpus, but if he won, I'd still be holding the medal. That and his hair back.

ST: Thanks for your time

BS:
My invoice is in the mail.

In 3rd place, according to his badges he has 1 million posts and named his account as if he was a hipster cafe trying to make a clever Robin Hood pun. But that doesn't stop him from being an ok poster and winner of third place in the third annual Sterge Tonight Rookie Countdown Extravagnza. Please make him welcome even though he plays for the Demons but we won't hold that against him its

ST: The star recruit of the Demons this season, what was it that made you pick the Demons?

FT:
It was a mixture of factors. I did have a few offers on the table from a few blokes that frequent a place I visit a lot. Out of that lot, I had two key offers, one from the Royals, and the other from the Demons. Both clubs had an excellent vision, and some awesome players, but overall, it was Van_Dyke that I credit as the key deciding factor in getting me over to the Demons, great bloke, and certainly one that does a lot behind the scenes.

ST: Has the internal strife at the Demons had any affect on you the humble hipster friend to Robin Hood? Do you think the playing group has become more galvanised since the departure of RU_?

FT:
I can remember in my first match being part of a squabble where I had to fill up a spot in the backline, and I know for sure that just when everything seems right in the world, something just pops, whatever that may be, that just seems to sidetrack the operation. We have an extremely talented list, but it takes more than on-field talent to deliver. It’s a shame to see RU_ leave as he did, but that departure has given me his spot and a chance to showcase my talents further. RU_ is a presence on the field, and I think while we’re united off the field, we’ll need a little more work to ensure all is well on the field. Maybe, just maybe, we'll find a perfect balance, and hit the final series in a firestorm to deliver that 2nd flag.
ST: We have heard you are desperate to win the Media rookie of the year, when do you think you will get the nod and do you care to respond to allegations that Ant Bear is deliberately excluding you?

FT:
Ha ha, I wouldn’t say desperate. I think it started in Round 3, when I got back to back excellent performances, had good early season form, and well, it sort of became a bit of a gag, really. Up there, but maybe not the best of the round, it happens. Win all the silvers and bronzes you want, the gold is the big one, that’s what people remember. I think the challenges in taking up a new position has certainly made things a bit trickier, getting right into the thick of it. Hoping I’ve still got one big one left in this season to eventually get at least the nomination, though time is running out. It would be a disgrace if I don’t clock one by season’s end. Such is the way things go.
ST: How have you rated your rookie season so far?

FT:
It’s been alright. I’d rate it a spookism, 3/5. I’ve had a few major setbacks in recent weeks, but I’d like to think I’d doing decently enough on and off the field. While he doesn’t seem to be getting his dues out, philreich has certainly put up a lot of fight, and I think it will be a good fight for the best rookie down at the Demons. Hopefully things go my way, and well, a great final series awaits.
ST: If it's not you holding the EKA medal on Mobbs night then who will it be?

FT:
Oh blimey, that’s a tricky one. There’s a good field of rookies here, that’s for sure. I’m going to say Elton Johns Wig. Awesome bloke on and off the field. Gets the job done, and is a genuine asset to the Sweet FA. There are many I could name that could take top honour, and I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest.

Thank you very much for having me, Go Demons!

LOL J/K Thanks for the write up Sterge , you're OK.

But EWJ still sucks monkey balls.

I'll tag you if I goddamn feel like it minnow
Now listen here you dyslexic ****!!:D

You take not winning like your average Hawks supporter is coping at the moment, the parallels are uncanny.

This is not the real result, its just random opinion. Kids today, they get told all the way through that they are doing great, then they hit the real world, don't always win and there are dummies, dummies everywhere. #societyistoblame #notreallyitstheparents

I'll be honest here, I have no idea what you two are talking about......

We're grown adults talking about a cartoon. I'll leave it up to you to determine how sad that is.

can you stop this bullshit in my thread trying to have a serious countdown here

You call it a "serious" countdown and you've put me in the top 5.

Our top 2 are surprisingly both named after food items, but it's no suprise they are both seriously good posters and looking back through the Rookie countdowns of yore no Sterge Tonight top 7 rookies would be complete without a quality Furies candidate and tonight our 2nd place getter joins _Cayz_ & tgrs on that list of quality furies. Please make him welcome

2nd: HumanMeatball

giphy.gif

ST: You made the obvious choice to join the Furies but was it really that obvious and was anyone else ever in contention?

HMB: Thanks Sterge yeah look while other teams including the demons and a few other teams chased my services, the obvious decision was to always join the Furies. The Furies are just such a welcoming club and while the the most successful club still make everyone feel welcome, I see myself being a fury for many years to come and after a initial meeting with the club the decision was too easy.
ST: You have made your mark early via werewolf games but what is in store Sweet FA wise from a bloke named after something more at home on spaghetti or in a subway?

HMB: While I have made a bit of a name for myself when it comes to werewolf, particularly from the likes of BRAB, I definitely intend to showcase myself in the landscape of the SFA. I have a few media threads in the back of my mind that have been sizzling in the back of my head, and have some ideas to expand on my shit truck of the week media thread that was more a test for future endeavours.
ST: You started the season at Fullback before finding a home at CHF during the Furies now record breaking win streak what does the future hold for a HumanMeatball such as yourself?

HMB:
While I started at CHB and had 1 or 2 solid games in that position I felt my qualities and marking ability were better utilised in the foward line, after some frank discussions with the leadership group they agreed to trial me at CHF and we haven't looked back since. My performance while solid our winning streak comes down to everyone putting in 100% as a team. After a few hard loses we challenged each other and it's paying off. Lastly I'd probably like to eventually play a few minutes on the wing or even stints in the midfield but am willing to play in whatever position is best for the team.
ST: How have you rated your rookie season so far?

HMB: It's been a fantastic experience for my personally. I have met a bunch of really fantastic people and hope as a team we just keep getting better as a team. Personally I have rated my performance as solid but still have plenty to work on including my fitness and versatility. With the great playing group at the furies I'm more then confident I'll get the best of myself, and plan to stay a fury for many years to come.
ST: If it's not you holding the EKA medal on Mobbs night then who will it be?

HMB: Look while individual awards such as the EKA are a great honour to win, I'm all about team success over Individual awards. In terms of who will win it's hard to give a definitive answer as there are many fantastic players. I'm sure whoever wins will deserve it( unless there a demon)
ST: Thanks for your time today HumanMeatball

HMB: No problem thanks for having me
