Matthew Scarlett says hi, he is guilty of just as many dog acts as Baker if not more.

Typical Bigfooty thread, people rushing to sink the boots into an opposition player while ignoring the fact that their own players are guilty of the same thing or worse.
Typical Bigfooty thread. Plugger35 unable to accept anything negative toward St Kilda.

And what do you base that on?
If I had to hazard a guess...

Justin koschitzke will be on 200 games next year, that should give you a fair indication.
WOW just wow, if the mars rover finds life on mars, I will less shocked.

Looking forward to this interview.

Footbal is littered with blokes like Baker who had limited ability but willed their ways through using any means possible. Not sure sharpening your studs is where you want blokes heading, but the rest is par for the course for a tagger I would have though

I dunno why Milne is known as the tip rat as it is obvious he has more class on the field than Baker does.

Winning a b&f at st kilda is kind of like being the skinniest person on day 1 of the biggest loser... No great achievement...

They were top four that year.

Have always had a grudging respect for Baker, but sharpening the stops is an eye-opener. Startling honesty.

To be honest, i did raise my eyebrow at the length of some of the suspensions Baker got, i thought it did seem excessive, even if the general perception of him was a dog or sniper. But after reading some of his tactics in the OP i am surprised he wasn't suspended more often and/or recieve a longer stint on the sidelines.

Not just a dog or a sniper. A scumbag that doesn't believe in playing within the spirit of the game.

Yeah pick on the guy who was never the same after a fractured skull and still has brain pain and regular visits to the neurosurgeon.

How is this at all relevant to this thead?

Tell you what.

The funny thing is this thread is full of idiots saying:

Why are we talking about Scarlett... Stop trying to deflect attention. Thread is about Baker and the rubbish things he did on the field. Not about how others have done worse. Or how much of a little "try-er" he was.

OP never said anything about Collingwood. Thread specifically about Baker, stop deflecting

And yet it's not, this is about sticking the boots into St Kilda, as evidenced with people talking crap about winning best and fairest's, Kosi and the trophy cabinet picture. If you really want to make a trolling thread, go to the Bay, if you really want to keep it locked onto Steven Baker, don't start talking crap about the club when people start mentioning his achievements.

FWIW, Bakes wasn't the cleanest player, but he did his job and did it well, in the game he got suspended Steve Johnson did nothing and St Kilda went on to win by 4 goals. Complain about him all you want, but doubt his footballing ability and you were left hurting.

Interesting article in todays HUN quoting excerpts from an interview by ex Saints tagger Steven Baker. The next time Plugger35 has a sook about how poor Stevie was such a victimised little darling perhaps he should refer back to this article.

Bakker fessed up to routinely adopting the following tactics as a normal day at the office.

* Filing his stops to make them sharper, then standing on opponents ankles.
* Constant punching to opponents arms just above the elbow, often resulting in the opponent having to leave the ground.
* Punches to the sternums of opponents in stoppage situations.
* Headbutting oponents by deliberately throwing the head back into opponents standing behind.

This is the same little charmer who spilt open Kane Johnson's face in an off the ball hit. He was up to his old tricks yesterday playing for Craigeburn against Strathmore in the EDFL. Frustrated at getting a hiding from his young opponent, and his team on the end of a 20 goal thrashing this hack threw a behind the play cut lunch. I'm surprised that he hasn't been deregistered as he would have to be right on the 16 week suspension cutoff.

Some may say big deal, this is old news or other players have adopted similar tactics. That may be the case, however as one who has grown weary of Plugger attempts to white wash Stevie's behaviour I think it important to set the record straight.

Is Stevie Baker getting bagged for throwing a punch against Strathmore... The same Strathmore who have had Ty Zantick doing this every fortnight with impunity over the last couple of years.

It was focused solely on Baker, until saints supporters started wading in about Scarlett etc. And making irrational attempts to defend a player who made deliberate attempts to hurt players. OUTSIDE THE RULES. FOR NO OTHER PURPOSE THAN TO INFLICT INJURY. His behaviour was malicious and violent - by his own admission. Almost analogous to the actions of some members of the New Orleans Saints.

You can call the time of death in this thread at 5:41 PM when Plugger35 started slinging shit at the Pies simply because the OP supports them.

Was it Baker who punched Kane Johnson in the face. That goes down as one of those more cheaper acts that stays in the memory. I still remember it much like the Solimon/ Ling, Bickley/Wakelin and Sinclair/ Picioane . They seem to stick in the memory. Sorry about spelling or lack there of.

Correct.
2004,R3, Striking, Kane Johnson, Early plea, 4 matches.

Faced the tribunal 10 times between 01-07.
The only one he got off was from kicking Steve Alessio.
