Didn't Baker stop short and Farmer ran into the back of his head with his nose?

That's the version that has consistently come out. Seems like a sensible thing to do. To call it a shepherd is ridiculous - you are entitled to stop whenever you feel like it surely without ever having to worry about whether or not some dimwit is going to run into the back of you.

As much as I hate Baker 7 weeks sounds excessive for an accidental clash of heads. I can't see how this can be anything else.

St Kilda will appeal and will, in all probability, lose.

Knew he was gone when I heard he gave himself up by saying he blocked Farmer.

What a dill, should have said nothing but Farmer ran into him.

7 weeks is a bit harsh though.

Anyway was still worth it to see Farmer smashed.

We are stuffed this season anyway, may as well end it on friday night.

Anyway good one Bakes enjoy your holiday.

no, it was bakers version of events and bakers story that did him in. thats the funny part, baker thaught that by putting a block on behind play was perfectly legel, even if you do knock the guy out, he thought he was an angel. lol

And so what was the facts again?
If the saints challenge it what will they get?one or two weeks less?He did say he ran into him(reportable)3 weeks from poor record so good luck.

Yup you are right - may get it reduced but the way the tribunal ad the AFL work he wont get off completely.

If Nixon was allowed to give evidence, would any other spectator have been allowed to do as well. He is not a player or official and certainly has a vested interest as Baker is his client.
maybe the AFL should have asked all spectators if there saw it and to give evidence if they did.

Better starting writing up that list Stevie :thumbsu:
great post.

Re: Baker found guilty, what a disgrace

I hate Baker and what he stands for in football. Cant get a kick himself so just puts the game down a level.......but to suspend him would be a joke.

If there was footage or someone saw it then 15 weeks as its dirty BUT:::::::

no one saw the incident

no footage of the incident

claims that farmer ran into his "shepard" and was knocked out" substantiated by medical reasons where steve baker has marks/indents/bruises in head to say that farmer hit/ran into/collided with him.

no one remonstrated the incident.

Baker must be cleared in this incident, its not like the leigh matthews incident where there was footage etc.

Bad luck jeff farmer, can honestly say that youre not the cleanest player to have a misfortune.

if it was harvey, hird, buckley, riccuito etc it would have been different.....

In contrast Farmer said he standing watching the play when he felt someone make contact 'to the right hand side of his face.'

Standing...?????:)

Watching the play....?????:D

No peripheral vision ???????

Anyone in the crowd this week that is witness to a behind the ball incident that is not picked up on tv or by the umps, ring the AFL and dob the offending player in.:thumbsu: This is a joke of a competition ATM!!
