I almost read that as being sarcastic. But I am sure you don't mean that. We need to avoid the back ended payment scheme of course and maybe go for a Brisbane inspired one where the players play as a group for a flag rather than just one of a team. Preaching to the converted?
With respect, Katthawk, you have a wrong take on what I mean. Sarcasm was not intended. Our team is already beginning to draw larger attendances which I feel is a result of displays from the likes of young guns, Willo, Buddy, Roughy to name some, not to mention the improvement of Brown, Osbourne and others.

Simply, I'm a believer in and on about development of home grown guns in the Hawthorn mold which it appears Clarko is doing anyway... simply expressing an opinion.

I'm not one for recruiting other clubs' big-heads and worn out hacks.

Tarrant for Mildura
We need to look at a replacement for Spida he has maybe one, or two, at the most, left and we want to be playing in the finals in a few years, we will need a ruckman.
Plan A Wait for the kids
Plan B PSD

I didn't think you were being sarcastic, Gary :)

I understand what you're saying, but I'm not at all worried about Hawthorn's capacity to pay players, what I'm worried about is our capacity to do so WITHIN the restrictions posed by the salary cap.

With a clump of highly talented young footballers coming through, the AFL will have an expectation of what we should be paying these players as they advance in years and ability.

We need to keep this in mind with any extra curricular recruiting we do outside of the draft. We need to ensure that we don't inadvertantly restrict our capacity to legally provide increases to up and coming players in the future.

we don't nned forwards now , we need a back up ruck that will give spider good assistance .. if we have that then if spider isnt resting on the bench he can go forward and give us a target up there ...

we should also look at a good tall mobile backman to do the work jacobs isnt..

with fringe picks we can go for some usefull midfielders ..
i think we should keep clarke , i was scepticle with him but he has stepped up this year which is great to see and doing a fine job for us ..

greene , ries , lonie have not ..

This is what I meant. thanks. Gary I just meant you sounded like everyone else would be sarcastic about our players and how good they were going. Four potential AA players and numerous ones who could go in is very good and just highlights the sudden 'theatre goer' we could produce.

You Gary Shadforth have never been sarcastic. It's my cynical mind which is what drew such people as Zeke into this thread. :)

Goddard and saints first round?
I'd be prepared to give up Lokan, Williams and R.Lonie for that. R.Lonie has had more impact than Goddard.

Do you think our club is administered by idiots?
