Politics Stop comparing Communism with Neo-Nazism

I'm not sure when or how it started. But society has just accepted this comparison, including the conclusion that Communism is actually WORSE than fascism and/or neo-Nazism.


We can know, agree and accept that UNDER COMMUNISM and due to actions of Communist leaders there have been disgusting and horrific outcomes, killing millions.
These are outcomes under communism.


Communism and neo-Nazism are ideologies.
One of them is about means of production and ownership of labour.
One of them is about the extermination of inferior races.


Following or supporting Communism can be completely altruistic and innocent.
There is no aspect of following or supporting neo-Nazism, that isn't a detriment to our society.



Stop using the line about how many people died due to Communism, as some kind of comparison, deflection or defence of neo-Nazism.
The only reason less people died due to Nazism... is because the world went to war to stop it...
Deaths under Nazism weren't just an outcome, they were the intention.

I don't think much separates a Marxist or Stalinist from a Nazi (a real 1930's card carrying Nazi)

Some people still exist in the place where they think they can wear the same pair of boots but the right one is bad, or the left one is bad, but the other is okay. Trying to rationalise their position.

Eventually people figure out that authoritarianism is bad regardless of what populist policy and ideology they use to manipulate people into supporting them to rise to a position of power.

And the point I was making is that people find themselves leaning towards an ideology like communism because the selling points are feel good, make you a good person to support things and then the deployment of them is a dark reality that doesn't jive with that vibe. There's a significant amount of rationalization, compartmentalizing and outright cognitive dissonance when it comes to people who support communist ideas, even going as far to call themselves such, but want to keep that aside from the deployment of it in history.

I believe the metaphor I used is quite suitable, it's even relevant at the moment with people complaining about authoritarian left wing government actions on a topic they care about when they were cheering the same authoritarian government being authoritarian when it agreed with them just a short while ago, even being party to them.

The only solution is to remove the boot. Not to care whether the foot inside is the left or the right. Not to play games that one stomps more or less hard. Remove the boot.

You can have issue with historical implementations of communism, but I think making an argument that the concept of communism is as bad as the concept of Nazism would be an uphill battle lol

One could argue that various elements of communism could exist in a free and fair society, I’m not sure the same could be argued for Nazism.

Hitler also expressed dismay with Communism and criticised it and its ideals explicitly in Mein Kampf.

The whole "Nazis were socialists" thing is like the "Lincoln was a Democrat" argument. It's a semantic argument which doesn't really go anywhere beyond a bit of trivia.

I wouldn't make that argument. The implementations is where the debate is anyway surely.

My point is that there's room enough in the dustbin of history for a wide range of systems/social structures that don't have much of a place in 21st Century life, including the comparatively benign.
