I had no idea that Fitzroy were so popular with kids in the poor villages of Africa :p
Donated by Frenchs Forest Lions in Sydney. Good on em.

Cheers Captain Bringdown

Maybe 20 or 30 years ago when the world was a much larger place and people did not travel as far and wide, it would have been intriguing to see people in other countries wearing AFL jumpers, but I and all my friends take our jumpers everywhere, as I'm sure a lot of other chronic Australian travellers do. I would not be surprised to see an AFL jumper anywhere. I'd just be like, 'O, another Australian... You don't see many of them around...'

I was in a cambodian village about 5 hours east of phnom penh and there was a young kmer kid wearing a Carlton guernsey. I went up to the kid and said go carlton and he gave me the strangest look. He then said where you come from and i said australia and he said australia then went on to say " a dingo took my baby". I laughed then thought they teach this stuff to these kids in school.

Walking through the Smithsonian A&S Museum years ago and ran into a guy decked out in Pies Jumper, beanie and scarf.

Not a jumper but ive got one anyway.

Yesterday i was at Alcatraz Island off San Francisco doing a tour of the prison and a bloke there was wearing a Carlton scarf. I approached him and attempted to make small talk about football but it turns out he doesnt speak english and apparently had no idea what the scarf meant.

I was on the Golden Gate a couple of weeks back and saw a bloke with a Collingwood hat on. Ruined the whole experience to be honest.

A guy moved into our block of units a week before the GF. He's a Hawks supporter, so naturally was wearing his scarf & beanie every day. But, he is still wearing them every day, whether just walking around the units, or going out. I get the feeling, he isn't right in the head.

Funny you say that, I saw a homeless bloke in San Fran wearing an old long sleeve Carlton Guernsey. Highly doubt he even knew what it was.

Grouse thread. I still think it's a bit cringeworthy to be a loud, drunken, ocker Aussie wearing a Pies jumper as you chase bulls or roll after cheese. But some of these are interesting. Weird how the Cats seem to have a bit of a global presence...

Jealous of the bloke who met and got with a girl in a footy jumper at a club in Canada. Pretty good times to remember when you're 78 and about to die.

In New York 2010 - American Eagle Outfitters had a massive (17 storey high) electronic billboard in Times Square, where customers could have their photo taken with a caption. It was called "Your 15 seconds of fame". Anyway, there was a Cats supporter wearing the blue & white hoops.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Richmond jumper anywhere. Seem to see neutral Tigers at every AFL game and almost everywhere I've been around the world.

Strangely, I don't hate them overseas.
