Stuart Fox leaves and the search for a replacement CEO

Fox is/was the CEO of 'our' club - a paid member of the management, he's not a Hawthorn supporter and never was/never will be. He's born and bred in Geelong homeland and will stay a Cat. But who gives a stuff, our President is an Essendon man - go figure

and where have the Hawks benefited from those guys??
Who said we had? It's just good to have people you have a good history with in positions of power and influence should the need arise that we ever need to call in a favour. And who knows, maybe we already have. Better those guys than someone like Cochrane.

I agree with this.

Whether they pay favours when called in or not - it's just good to have good people in influential roles rather than a bunch of virgin dogs running the show.

He has been out of the AFL day to day scene for a few years, and still has some involvement in the game, but I think the person best suited to take on the CEO's role is Adrian Anderson.

It might be tough to entice him back from the law, but I can't think of a better connected person which could be helpful with the Dingley development ramping up and has the respect of people within the code as well as Government and business.

It couldn't hurt to ask the question. It just feels like the right place at the right time situation.

Being a Hawthorn man doesn't do his chances any harm either.

I cannot understand this really.

We usually send our Hawthorn people to other clubs as secret plants that report back to HFC on what the other clubs are up to.

How is Fox going to the MCC going to help us :D:D:D
We're busy setting up the premier sporting league. Positioning nicely to take over from the AFL.

nah, he's a Hawk...(for now anyway) you couldn't take on an honorary position like President and not display all the emotional hype required for someone required to be hooked into the Club....that said there have been board members that supported another club yet joined our board.

Ross Oakley a Saints man, a Hawks board member, CEO of the AFL, but always a Saint.....good luck to him.

Peter Jackson, long time CEO at Essendon FC (and a life member) now Melbourne FC CEO, he wants the Dee's to have success - but always be a bomber.

Fox has been well paid, well advised and well educated by our Club as CEO.....has landed a plumb job.....good luck to him.

My point is that whilst you may hold a senior position at a club either on a board or on the executive you don't necessarily need to support that club like we do as a member.

That reminds me that Hawthorn FC both enlisted Stuart Fox and Ian Robson to do their Business degree's in the States to further their education and being at the forefront only to lose them to other clubs or or Business as CEO's :(:(:(

Sad to lose Fox. But he's left the club in a great position.

As for the other bloke, I'm quite happy with the legacy he left in the AFL.

Good luck to Foxy.

Terrible timing for us.

The Dingley planning, fundraising and eventually relocation is the biggest thing our club has ever undertaken in its history and we need the absolute best of the best driving this project.

Our current Board members dont really jump out at me to be honest!!!
