Yeah because nfl nba don’t talk, if you think you have no idea

I didn't say they don't talk. Riewoldt said there is legislation in place to prevent players from causing disruption to their teams during the season by talking to rival clubs and it becoming public. Obviously they would talk they're only human but just stating that there is legislation in American sports. Thanks for your observation though.

I think Buckley put his foot in it by saying they had talked.
They’ve all talked, always have always will.

I think Barrett is a gut maggot like his boss Hutchy - they use to shuffle through dumpsters for stories, now they think they are big shots they just make shit up.

The thing I agreed with to some extent is that if Lynch is leaving the next phone call that should be made is to Steven May and his manager, with the idea being to rip up his contract for next year and give him 50% of whatever Lynch was going to get next year on top of what he was getting for 2019, and make him the highest paid player in the AFL in 2019 if he signs a long-term contract.

What Barrett suggested in giving him an ultimatum is ******* stupid and disrespectful and not how a good club does business. We want to show May that we are loyal to him and want to reward him handsomely for that loyalty when we need it most.

I wouldn't be too worried that May would 'Ablett' us with a front loaded contract as he is as honest as the day is long.

It would be a great morale booster that on the same day Lynch leaves that May signs up long-term to show what true leadership is.
I read the same article... Just sounds like barrett wants us to let go of out best players so melbourne teams can snap em up. If we start from scratch with draft picks it's going to be another 3 years before we are competitive. The avg suns supporter will have lost all interest by then.

I know so many people who watched most of the suns games 2 or 3 years ago that didnt even care we beat the swans on the weekend. I was surprised at how many of them think the suns will fold soon. These are mostly afl people who support another team.

If people have lost interest now it will be hard to regain their attention after another few years at the bottom of the ladder.

Why Gold Coast football clubs will be more than $500k better off

sweeping changes to stadium arrangementssigned off on by the State Government.

The Courier-Mail can reveal that an interim report compiled by experienced sports administrator John Lee has found private Gold Coast bus companies have been taking advantage of a monopolyby charging exorbitant fees to transport fans to and from games, costing clubs thousands.

As a result, the State Government will axe the private service in favour of the publicly owned TransLink.

It will also cap the transport levy, which is added to the ticket price for each game, at $3.10 per person.

Getting to Metricon Stadium will be cheaper for clubs and fans under the new deal.
The Gold Coast Suns had been paying transport operators on average $4.10 per person.

The club will also be relieved of the majority of its payments to a sinking fund for the purpose-built Metricon Stadium, due to it being underused, and as a result of it still being in good condition.

Sports Minister Mick de Brenni, who will today release the interim report, said it had provided an opportunity for improved relations between sports clubs and the Government.

“The key recommendation in this interim report is around transport costs,” he said.

“The difference between transport costs for Brisbane and the Gold Coast has been as much as 52 per cent. That’s just unjustifiable.

“I welcome the recommendation to bring the management of transport services at the Gold Coast back in house to the public provider TransLink, which has the potential to save fans millions over coming years.”

The report also recommends that the freshly minted Stadiums Queensland board look at ways of maximising commercial opportunities at venues.

Leasing out office space to willing businesses has been floated as a way to raise extra revenue.

It has also been proposed that the board put the management rights of the Gabba to tender for private operators, such as AEG Ogden, who may maximise any potential returns for the facility.

“Stakeholder feedback has identified that performance of the Gabba venue may be affected by the management of the venue, which is viewed as being less entrepreneurial than other interstate venues,” the report found.

It can be revealed there has been “significant interest” from possible commercial partners over the recommendation to sell the naming rights of the Gabba, which is expected to fetch millions of dollars annually.

This is one of the best things I've seen coming out of Suns TV. Nobody would expect a couple of players to do a professional job of such a show, but these guys have exceeded my expectations. Legends. Watch it!
As a digital marketer by trade that was how content marketing should be done. I have never seen that real side of Harbrow before and I found it genuinely interesting and engaging as a tragic fan. Made me respect him even more, he's a great man and can finally understand why he's so highly regarded as a leader. That uncensored honesty is how you get people on side. I really really hope they continue this. Touk was the perfect host too.

So glad to see proper content from the Suns as opposed to scripted 1-2 min fluff. People in this day and age are exposed to so much content that they can sniff fluff from miles away.

Ainsworth played the first 15 games of the season before succumbing to the injury.

The small forward revealed he spent four weeks battling the foot problem and conceded it had begun to affect his form.

“I probably played with it for about a month prior to actually missing a game,” Ainsworth said.

“It was continually getting worse and worse.

“It was a matter of managing it over time and then we came to the point where it had to be rested.

“It probably affected my form at times. Everyone talks about mental resilience and it does play a big part in how your form is operating.

“My foot is probably in a better space and my mental capacity is a lot better.”

Ainsworth said he expected to play around between 90 and 100 per cent of today’s game after being able to maintain a solid amount of fitness during his break.

Ainsworth is one of three inclusions to the team alongside Josh Schoenfeld and Pearce Hanley.

The trio will replace Brayden Fiorini (AFL), Jack Bowes (AFL) and Fitzroy Greenwool (omitted).

Gold Coast hold sixth on the NEAFL ladder, two points ahead of Brisbane who beat the Suns 12.24 (96) to 0.4 (4) when the two sides last met in Round 6.

Michael Whiting hitting the nail on the head. Jesse Lonergan is a a game-changer for the Suns because he can tag the opposition's best player. Watch him on Cripps today.

Jesse Lonergan was one of the Suns' best last week

WITH A cloud hanging over his future, Gold Coast midfielder Jesse Lonergan might have found another way to keep his career ticking.

After playing just two games this season, the 23-year-old Tasmanian was inserted against Sydney last weekend and ended up playing an integral role in the Suns' upset victory.

With Swans skipper Josh Kennedy running riot in the first quarter to pilot his team to a 29-point quarter-time advantage, Lonergan was assigned a run-with role on the All Australian midfielder.

At first he just manned Kennedy at stoppages, and after half-time it was a full tagging job.

Kennedy still had 33 disposals to be one of Sydney's best, but his influence was curbed and the Suns stormed to victory.

"He's such a good player and so strong at the contest, you can only limit him, you can't stop him," Lonergan told AFL.com.au.

"I just had to get into him, put a body on him and stop his influence as much as I could.

"He's such a big-time player, we just wanted to shut him down, match him in tight and then use our legs on the outside."

Lonergan said he learnt so much from playing on one of the competition's best inside midfielders.

"His work rate is second to none," he said.

"He's never not moving, that's why he's such a good player and so consistent over such a long time."

Lonergan is out of contract at season's end and after 58 games in six seasons with the Suns, is in limbo.

Although Carlton bull Patrick Cripps might be another run-with candidate for Saturday night's match against the Blues, Lonergan gave away no clues of likely matchups and said he was just happy to be in the senior team.

"Hopefully beating a side like Sydney is a fire-starter for us," he said.

"You can't underestimate any side though. We've got to stick to basics and start from scratch again."

Seems like he's gotten a nice little boost from that article. Swallow was on Cripps though and now you'd reckon Lonergan has to go onto him fulltime. Maybe Holman would be better on Cripps though because he's wasted in the forwards tonight.

Jesses has 14 constested disposals he has been our best mid I don't want to lose his strength around the ball
The game was lost as soon as the coaches moved lonergan onto Cripps in the 2nd quarter after Swallow went down.

Lonergan was killing it for us in the 1st quarter he had 13 disposals (11 contested) and 5 clearances in the 1st quarter.

He had a total of 8 disposals in the next 3 quarters.
We lost the game in the coaches box tonight

Flogs Hutchy and Cornes were typically anti-May in their assessment of the game. They showed Charlie Curnow elbowing May in the head, but didn't even discuss a penalty, then they showed May cutting Charlie in half in a brilliant tackle and poured scorn on him for it. Of course, all this led to them showing slo-mo incriminating footage of May's bump on Ed Curnow and their mealy-mouthed opinion that he would cop a few weeks suspension. In a clear sign that they hadn't watched the match or even spoken to somebody who had seen the match, they showed footage of May mouthing off at the Carlton defenders and criticised him for it, clearly ignorant of the fact that May went forward to take a strong mark and backed up his words with a goal from a tight angle to give a spark of hope with 9 minutes to go. Cornes went so far as to berate May for poor leadership. Flogs, the pair of them, all day and every day.

I heard some Lady Journo on Game Day presenting something called “Nats News” show the May Slam like you said in SLO-MO and then say “this led to Curnow getting revenge a few mins later” and then showed May getting the elbow in the head.
Can you believe that? She had the two events not only out of sequence but they would have been at least an hour apart.
I seriously wonder what’s happening in Education in Melbourne. The self-proclaimed genius’ at VFL House are sleazy conservative school tie slime bags and there is Zero Quality in Journalism.

No wonder we send electricity down there to these utter morons so the lights don’t go out. FMD.

The Melbourne media are frothing over cripps and curnow as if the Kardashians were in town i dont see the hype but they obviously have nothing better to do.
