I don't know anyone who follows them.

I've always had a soft spot for them and I think people just assume before Mahomes they were never that good but they had some very good teams in the 90's and not much luck.

You could say currently at 3 super bowls that that might be unders for all the talent they have had in the last 30 years.

There's quite a bandwagon, it used to be the same 5-6 teams available at Rebel, Footlocker and US-themed stores, but the Mahomes Chiefs jersey has forced its way into the Australian market in a way that Hurts, Allen, Herbert et al haven't.

I even saw a Kelce one the other day. No idea why!

The Purdy hate is pretty wild.

Dude was the last pick of the draft, the only Mr Irrelevant to take a snap at QB, throw a TD, start a game, win a game, make the playoffs, win playoff games, go to the Superbowl etc etc etc. he's a 2nd year player who's taken his team to the Superbowl. Not even Mahommes did that with his 2nd year.

He made some big time throws and scrambled to keep plays alive and rushed more yards than Lamar this week - and was one of the key reasons why the 49ers are headed to LV.

But because of the team he's on and where he was drafted this he's held to some bizarre standard.

Is he the complete package? he'll no, otherwise he'd be drafted in the first round. But for us he fits our system and can elevate it when needed.

From where he's come from, and what he's achieved - it's a bonkers story.

No one hates Purdy, they hate the behaviour of the Niners fans in promoting him, which includes this constant victimhood when others have a more realistic assessment of his play.

Unsure why there is such 49ers hate on here. Unless it's based on fan bases, but could make a case pretty much all fan bases have turds in it.

Haven't won a SB in nearly 30 years.
Have had multiple tough superbowl and conference championship game heartbreaks in last decade and recent history is about falling short
Underdog story QB
Star players on offense are all likeable personalities (kittle, Cmac, deebo, aiuyuk, Juzyzk)
No real dislikable player

Think would be a perfect fit for neutrals given they are going against a possible dynasty that's getting cockier by the minute.

I think people would be more receptive if their fan base behaved like a team that's been humbled over the last thirty years. They don't.

Any time there's a sniff of success they come out the woodwork strutting about their greatness. Constantly convinced they're presently in a dynasty. Basically what the Cowboys fans were until McCarthy completely broke them.

Listing Deebo as a likeable personality is one of the wildest things ive ever read though.

It can be hard to tell as I think wearing Mahomes or Lebron James for most people is like wearing band shirts when they don't actual listen to any of the music.

I saw a teenage girl wearing a Miami Dolphins jumper a few weeks ago but surely she doesn't actually follow them hehe!

Where is Stevie Gerrard? Very surprised he hasn't turned up yet, this is usually his time to shine. Right before a big game to jinx the shit out of them.

I guess at least Swift losing is something it’s all I’ve got
Got a theory about that. It's best for everyone that the Chiefs lose.

  • Winning a Superbowl after following a sport for a few weeks won't make Swifities rusted on supporters. Give them some heartbreak and a redemption arc and then you convert to life long supporters.
  • the rusted on NFL fans will relish/or be relieved by a chiefs loss.
  • Taylor does her BEST work when dealing with heartbreak and drama. She needs the struggle and challenge to inspire her next work.

Everything has been going so well in the past 12 months in her personal life and the juggernaut Eras Tour. Which goes against the grain - she needs some controversy (like a highway robbery of a Superbowl) to tilt things back to normal.

Chiefs lose - Everyone wins

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Told me he dumped 'em due to the Leeds association. Guess who has announced that he's back on board since the NFC championship was won this past Monday.

Kelce had 11 receptions today. Thats b2b weeks that teams have let him loose. Pretty insane given the blueprint of the season was stop Kelce at all cost, let anyone else beat you but him and you are a very good chance vs the Chiefs. Would be interested to know if the Chiefs have done anything different to get him loose or if the Bills and Ravens were just arrogant enough to think what they had done up til then was going to be good enough and they didnt need to stop him.

Remember when all the analysts used to go on about how a BB defense used to take away the oppositions best player - and let the rest beat you!

I used to get sick of that narrative because derr wouldn’t that be what every other team is trying to do - evidently the answer is no.

not only did the Ravens let Kelce run rampant in the first half, they also completely forgot the run on offense what was it six runs on offense by RBs when that’s a huge strength of theirs and huge weakness of KC.

Surely the 49ers don’t make the same mistake! Surely

He made another pointless thread and it got binned.

My genuine reaction to this is, so what? Who could blame them for trying to keep him off the field?

I'd be gaslighting him, saying hes copped a couple of head knocks, and they're not risking his long-term health. Clearly doing better without him...

Gone from doing some good things in last seasons SB to a year later the team not even wanting him on the beach.

Hot chocolate to boiled lollies as quick as it gets.
