He was nowhere near in the best for mine. That report seemed way out. For DT get him, SC, well his disposal is still iffy. He'll still play but he won't be a high scorer for it. But get him because he costs next to nothing.

are Beau Waters and Luke Shuey likely to be selected for Round 1?

and how many games do you think Brad Shepperd and Ashley Smith will play this year?

I would think Watters and Shuey will be pretty good chances for Rd 1 - maybe off the interchange. Sheppard games - hard to tell, but at a guess I will say 6-7. Smith - would be unlikely to play too many. But that is all crystal ball gazing ATM.

Sheppard and Smith should both play about 6 games, I feel. More for a tatse than anything else.

Keep an eye on both for 2011.

Waters and Shuey, IMO, will both play round 1, but if they don't, it wont be long before they are in the 22.

Oddly, at this stage I'm more confident that Shuey will play round 1 than Waters.

ok i might have asked before but waters just fits awesomely into my plans. i have been told that he had about 10-12 possesions after about 2 and 1/2 quarters. so could someone of great west coast eagles knowledge please tell me how he went yesterday and how he will go this season.

Because not only would he fit awesomely into my sc but he is just and awesome awesome player

not only is he dirt cheap but he'll also be moving to the half back/half forward line, which is only good news for us. He is up and running but round 1 isn't exactly a certainty. It's not that he's not good enough or isn't fit enough, but the coaches might want to test him out in the WAFL first and there are alot of defenders pushing for a spot in the 22. Hope this helps.

Waters' history is my worry. Is he looking any different to previous years? By all reports he's had a less than ideal preparation this season.

My only Eagle is Masten who is as much as a lock as anyone at this stage. If big Cox is fit and you believe it i'd get on him as almost no one else (outside the WC board i would say) has him so he works out as a nice unique gun for your team. If he has OP though...well you know the rest.

Waters has been off the field for about 18 months, which has given him the opportunity to become MASSIVE:eek: he's super fir he'll just need a few games to de-rust

Masten an obvious lock, expect around 90 points and to play every game whenever possible

Cox has returned in rubbish form (it has to be said). Kerr has had time to get back into pre-season training and get back to his semi-best, Cox however, had a setback, and he's probably as bad as he can get at the moment. The rest of the pre-season should whip him back into it abit and after a few matches i think he'll be back to his usuall self. At the moment i'd rather have Naitanui in my ruck but thats not to say Cox won't get back to his usual high dt score self...

Hi Guys,
Really apprecciatte the feedback on this thread to everyone's questions, its very helpful :thumbsu:
I've got one defensive slot in Supercoach earmarked for either Sheppard or Waters. Can't spilt them on price or general indictaors such as K:H ratio, or contested possessions. Reading between the lines on this thread and your Best 22 thread, could I paraphrase by saying that Waters looks closer to getting a Round 1 guernsey, and more likely to have greater job security this year than Sheppard?

thanks

I think that would be a fair call, but neither are certainties to play round 1. Waters followed up an ordinary performance against Port, with a good game in the scratchy against Carlton on the weekend. He showed that he has a level of attack on the ball that exceeds most players and Woosha would have noticed that.

Hey guys,

Whats the word with Spangher? Is he in ur 22? is he fit and firing?

It's pretty much a battle between Spangher and Mackenzie for a spot in the 22. He has shown good signs, but a starting 22 is a bit too much. I'd expect him to play about 15 games max this year. And even though he is fit he still gets a fairly average score. You're probaby better off going with glass or maybe even Schofield who played 3 games last year but has shown a massive increase in form over this pre-season.

hey guys,
need to replace someone in my team with someone else about 30 000 less or more. have looked across my team but havent been able to find someone id be willing to trade out yet. one of my options though, would be to trade out waters or sheppard (i have both) for stijk...

therefore my question is - is stijk inline for any matches this year? i know he's a mature aged rookie and he's just coming off a good match against carlton. has good poise and clean skills along with good pace. seems a likely type but im not sure if he's got any realistic chance of playing this year?

cheers

Masten is a lock this season.

Im also keen on Brad Ebert, he possesses the one key ingredient to a good dreamteamer... a poor kick. Ebert cannot hurt the opposition by foot so the opposition wont cover him and he should be able to take plenty of uncontested marks. He is now coming into his 3rd season and he has shown an ability to accumulate, now he just needs consistency.

Ebert's disposal is hardly poor. I suggest watching him more often.

Sorry if this has already been asked.

I see a lot of potential with Adam Selwood for DT. Does the recruitment of Dalziel mean that he no longer has the tagging job?

I noticed Selwood's numbers were up last year... if he is released as a pure midfielder I can see his numbers rising.

Thoughts?

How do people think that Nicoski will go? Will he improve and play most of the matches? Damn cheap option...?

It looks like he'll be playing at Half forward rather than half back, so you're probably not going to get the same thing from him, score wise.

The trouble is, you can't be sure if the move will be good for his DT or not.

The good news is, if you're willing to take the risk, there's a chance of improvement that most players at his age don't have, and he should play 22 games, even if he's not popular on here.
