If you read what i wrote.. I said to "DATE" you haven't played syd or wce TWICE YET....Hawks are a good team no doubt and should be there in september but to say the crows draw has helped them to be in 2nd spot TO DATE is wrong as hawks have had a similar draw to round 20

Adelaide have been gifted a friendly draw, but they have been good enough to take advantage of it. IMHO they would be top 4 or very close to it even without the draw tilting their way, but probably not top 2. Most Crows fans I know accept that.

Sydney - not sure why people still don't rate a team which has had a very average draw and is top of the ladder with a huge percentage after this many rounds of footy.

I'm a little surprised that people still doubt the Swans though. Maybe they have issues in the depth department, but they haven't been given an easier draw like Adelaide has.

Swans are definitely top 4 quality (though their forward line is a shambles without Reid there) but I'm not sold on the Crows. I don't think they'll beat Collingwood or Hawthorn in a final, even at AAMI. I'd be confident about Geelong having to potentially play them in a semi final. Crows also seem to be winding down - they were comfortably beaten by a Geelong team a few players short of its best, pushed to the wire by an undermanned Essendon and took three quarters to shake off a Freo side missing 3 of its best 5 players in Fyfe, McPharlin and Sandi.

I don't know about all that.

Game style- clearly Hawthorn. Best field kicking side in the comp. Can cut you to bits. Adelaide's game style is a replica of Collingwood's and I don't think we have the best game style unfortunately- despite probably having the best personnel.

Coach- Love Sando over Clarko but cannot agree. One is a premiership coach the other is a rookie coach.

Defence- 50/50 split.

Midfield- 50/50 again. Dangerfield, Thompson and Sloane v Hodge, Lewis and Mitchell.

Ruck- definitely Adelaide.

Forwards- Hawks. Buddy, Roughy, Rioli all superstars and freaks. Breust is coming along quite well too and add Gunston it is arguably the best mix in the comp. Tippett and Walker quality too but not as deep as Hawks.

Disagree with defence. Hawks KPDs are very suspect where we have 3 quality ones along with Doughty, and Reilly and Mackay running the ball out with precision.

Forwardline also has, Jenkins, Porplyzia, Callinan, Vince.

I know you dont think these players are as good as they are bu thats simply due to them not getting the Vic media attention and getting talked up something cruel...

The only reason we didnt flog Freo was due to inaccurate kicking. And how can you see it took 3 quarters to 'shake off Freo' but you 'comfortably beat' us. lol

I don't see how. There are four discretionary return games (the Port game is a lock).
So here is their list:

Swap out GC for Essendon and it looks like:

So over-all two Top 8 and three bottom 10 teams. Hard to complain about that fixture for a 14th placed team.

We are 2nd on the ladder before we even get 3 of our "guaranteed wins"(not what I think) in the next few weeks. Sure we have a easier draw than most, sorry for winning- but if you remove Bris, Melb and Suns from our draw we would be in the ballpark with many other teams (where we are at now).

We were in front at quarter despite kicking into a strong breeze, built a five goal lead kicking with it in the second quarter. You wiped out that deficit kicking with it in the third. We won by around that margin after coming home with it. I'd say that's a pretty clear cut case of us being a better side overall.

Genuine question, who were you missing v Freo on the weekend? Tippett, Porplyzia... anyone else?

Anyway, we probably won't finish top 2. If we do manage to beat the Hawks (who are apparently the best team in the competition) and Geelong (who I presume you and Mick have in mind to replace the Swans/Crows in the top 4?) twice in a season, I'd say a top 2 finish is reasonable. It would mean the only side we didn't beat all year was Collingwood.

In short, sorry the team supported dropped some easy games earlier in the year, and so aren't in the top 2. They'll probably be ok in the finals, I imagine. Stop sooking, you big ****ing baby.

Nothing to do with the "media attention or lack of", I watch most games, particularly the sides in finals contention.

I agree Hawks KPDs are suspect but their smaller blokes are better. Birchall, Suckling, Guerra---now that is running the ball out with precision. Adelaide trio of Doughty, Reilly and Mackay good but not as good as Hawks smalls.

Good mix of forward options but short on the quality the Hawks possess IMO in terms of depth.
