Yeah of course mate. I just think if it was reversed & it was JPK then we'd see much better outcomes from winning the thing.

I was probably too harsh on him... he wasn't horrible. His decision making & the outcome of his possessions aren't as positive as I would like. Poor given the level he's held out as.

Hes not a patch on jpk to be fair

Felt like we played our best football in 3 weeks and yet lost.

Had an opportunity but it was always going to be a challenge with two mids out of the game.

Bloody great game from Reid, just want more of them.
Feel like the Magpies did their work on Heeney, Blakey and Paps.

Proud of the effort from the kids tonight.

Great effort tonight, to finish only 7 points down against one of the top sides is a good result for us. That being said, being so close and not finishing the game off was disappointing.

Rotations obviously contributed but we certainly wasted some opportunities in the last.

Reid best game I’ve ever seen him play. Rampe great (except brain fade). Clarke great effort on SS. Aliir, Parker, Kennedy also good.

Hayward perhaps makes way for Menzel if he gets through reserves game this week? Just seems to be really down and maybe needs a few games in there just to get some confidence up.

Considering our injuries and inexperience on the field, I take this game as indicitive of good times ahead.

LOL, half their best team was out injured

Lloyd so soft. Get rid of him.
Reid’s best game ever.
Hayward unsighted.
Paps had his chances but didn’t convert.
Clarke was awesome, he was one of the best on.
Buddy must play up the ground for the development of Blakey and McCartin.

blakeys effort with the game on the line

hayward should of given him the goal

he will be a match winner blakey
Another big moment was when Reid passed it off to Hayward. Reid had been too dominant to be passing it off. I reckon Reid would have kicked it if he had the shot and we would have won the game. Sigh.

One thing I never thought I’d say:
- Reid played the perfect game.

Many things I knew I’d be saying:
- Youngsters once again ebbing and flowing in form, which is not a concern, they all had their good moments and their bad moments.
- Forward line and our forward entries are just so dysfunctional with Buddy.
- Parker in the midfield and Sinclair in the ruck is a debacle.
- Sir Dane was due for a mare, and he had one.
- Aliir and Lloyd are both sensational.
- Umpires don’t want us doing well.
- This doesn’t look like a team with culture problems.

reid started to share a bit

buddy wouldnt be doing that or papley

A big FU Dane rampe. This one's on you!:mad::mad:

Whilst I wouldn't put the loss on Rampe per se, there is no doubt that he is a very dumb footballer. His lack of understanding of the holding the ball rule is particularly head scratching.

Otherwise a damn fine effort by the boys tonight. Nothing to be ashamed of by any means.

- Good effort, losing Hewett & Kennedy killed us. The midfield is getting battered. Going to be really tested for depth in there against Geelong of they're both missing games.
- Reid was outstanding and Clarke did a very good shutdown job on Sidebottom.
- The use of Lloyd is still a concern for me. Gets most his ball from kick ins and isn't really any good at them. Confidence looks shot, his skills are right down at the minute and he needs to be moved from defence imo, should be on a wing and with our midfield almost completely out of players now, seems as good a time as any to get him in there.
- Really need to be going hunting for a ruck in the trade period.

i was thinking something similar earlier... reid does not have the arrogance to be a number 1 forward consistently.

not sure we had anything to put in place once jpk and hewett went down

not sure what horse could of done

maybe more dawson ? mills? though would they affect clearances

we couldnt get one late

Again with Parker? He worked his arse off and made a big difference I thought.

We are too harsh on players not having blinders. We are a developing team presently. The ultimate goal is consistent four quarters from 22 contributors but we are seeing some strong performances following some off with their head feelings.

We've had it good for so long expectation becomes great. We seem to be tracking ok without looking great. 2 close wins out of 3 is good for a young side.

Clarke has been given a defined role and is responding well. Credit to his turn around and tip of the hat to the coaches there.
