You coming back to the Royals?
Uncle Tonys House, In the casual subforum. Now THAT is friendly cliqueness. The UTH thread?
As I said I don't have an issue with a group chat as such, how could I - I just feel that a cliquey mentality is permeating the forum. Is that because of 'the chat', or is it due to the longstanding members of the forum being a lot more familiar with each other as time has gone on? I don't know.
Club vs club bantering has diminished, club focused media/trolling has diminished. When I started the appeal was being in a team, and bantering as a team - I feel that's been lost along the way.
Whether you agree with what Frankston Rover was saying or not, and god knows he's big enough (and certainly ugly enough) to handle himself, I agree with parts of what he was saying. The league has become, well... boring. The matey matey vibe of the place, whether it's 'chat' related or not, contributes to that.
Clearly there are others that share the same opinion.
I see it as some people being 'like minded' all over the forum - match threads, media threads... whatever. Think what you like about the Bombers, but they are one of the few clubs that still post as a unit - whether it be in match threads or media threads.
There needs to be more of it.
The UTH thread?
I agree - I think most people here have expressed opinions because they care about the league, not because they want to gripe in general - which is a good thing
Yeah, I don't think so...
You need to re read my post FrankieYeah, I don't think so...
You need to re read my post Frankie
All this melting has ruined your cognitive skills
That's exactly what the Warriors need, another inactive poster.
Stop quoting me then
None of us have any regard for you either
You’ll take this long black and stop complainingYes thanks. I have it white with one.
Exactly this Joe....have only spoken because I care.Even better if we're teammates

I'm sorry mate, I'm struggling to find any relevance here. I'm also struggling to find evidence.
There has always been cliques in this league. There has also always been cliques in BigFooty. People can play where and with and for whom they like.
You're literally asking for solutions that no moderator or forum or admin or webmaster in the history of the internet has ever been able to solve.
On the plus side, the Wonders have a full side next season.
It's a hard issue, because the rise of cliques is more a general observation I've made, and is an observation that seems to be shared by at least a few league stalwarts.
I agree with the last point. I'm not going to say I have any solutions, but I certainly think the issue should be explored in the off-season. Even if no solutions are found, it's absolutely worth exploring them over the off-season, because I, and others have alluded to, a rise in clique behaviour is detrimental to the team structure of the league.
Uncle Tonys House, In the casual subforum. Now THAT is friendly cliqueness.
I would say there are four cliques within the league at the moment (BC, anti-BC, Bombers LG, UTH, maybe other cross cliques)... maybe the answer is join a clique
Oi! Don't forget my "Sitting On The Fence Club" with it's many splinters.I would say there are four cliques within the league at the moment (BC, anti-BC, Bombers LG, UTH, maybe other cross cliques)... maybe the answer is join a clique
I’ve never had the dexterity to sit on the fence.Oi! Don't forget my "Sitting On The Fence Club" with it's many splinters.
Tarkyn Lockyer, cult? Well, you've got three of the required four letters!I’ve never had the dexterity to sit on the fence.
I’m happy to set up a fifth clique. We’ll honour our lord and saviour Tarkyn Lockyer at every meeting, have the 2002 Collingwood/Adelaide preliminary final on loop, and sacrifice a member once a month in honour of Presti’s ultimate sacrifice in 2010.
Oh wait, I didn’t mean clique. I meant cult.
Awww does poor little Jakey King still need others to fight his battles for him?Tarkyn Lockyer, cult? Well, you've got three of the required four letters!
