All yours if you started in season 7To be fair that should’ve been retrospectively awarded.
To me, but still...
Thanks mateFast becoming the SFA YES MAN
All yours if you started in season 7
Have you ever seen 25 people come down hard on somebody in an argument?
I’ve posted similar in another thread. I’ve watched the development of similar cliques, or groups, whatever - basically ruin the Bay (yeah yeah the Bay), and I fear a similar pattern happening here.
The whole premise of bantering is to go into battle with your teammates, take the piss out of the other team etc - your allegiance lies with the team you play for. These days match threads are a love in, and quite frankly, mind numbingly boring.
I’m not naive enough to suggest people shouldn’t be friends IRL outside of here, far from it - however I’m not the only one that thinks the cliquey feel of this board is diluting the product
That means there’s still potentially 50% of the names that don’t consider him a liar.Link please because the last time you mentioned a number (being 20) you in fact only had two names to give and one of those names just recently called you a liar.

Stop being so glass half empty.

Liar? I thought you said tiger...The 20 relates to people leaving of which the one who called me a liar is one.

The imaginary 20, maybe you're just seeing double?
Have you read the UTH thread?I’ve posted similar in another thread. I’ve watched the development of similar cliques, or groups, whatever - basically ruin the Bay (yeah yeah the Bay), and I fear a similar pattern happening here.

And what is your realistic solution?
(Keeping in mind that the chat is two and a half years old and it’s only now an issue and “diluting the product” because people know about it).
Asked with due respect, mod to mod and Hawk to Hawk.
I don't go into other match threads that don't involve the Royals and banter on behalf of the chat against the other team, I've also not seen any chat members do that whilst in a Royal thread that didn't involve them. So you have an issue because people are like minded in threads that don't involve team vs team?
Confused, please fill me in.
Have you read the UTH thread?
As I said I don't have an issue with a group chat as such, how could I - I just feel that a cliquey mentality is permeating the forum. Is that because of 'the chat', or is it due to the longstanding members of the forum being a lot more familiar with each other as time has gone on? I don't know.
Club vs club bantering has diminished, club focused media/trolling has diminished. When I started the appeal was being in a team, and bantering as a team - I feel that's been lost along the way.
Whether you agree with what Frankston Rover was saying or not, and god knows he's big enough (and certainly ugly enough) to handle himself, I agree with parts of what he was saying. The league has become, well... boring. The matey matey vibe of the place, whether it's 'chat' related or not, contributes to that.
Clearly there are others that share the same opinion.
I see it as some people being 'like minded' all over the forum - match threads, media threads... whatever. Think what you like about the Bombers, but they are one of the few clubs that still post as a unit - whether it be in match threads or media threads.
There needs to be more of it.

Organise a meet up with him.I'm sick of your shit, Joe.
Just watch yourself in our next match thread next season.
+1The actual points are getting lost.
Lets hope it's better than last off season.I think this off season is going to be very valuable.

I genuinely don't disagree with everything FR has to say on the matter, it would be nice to engage him without it resorting to personal stuff from either side. The actual points are getting lost. I don't think things can ever go back however we can meet in some middle territory. I think this off season is going to be very valuable.
Even better if we're teammates
I agree - I think most people here have expressed opinions because they care about the league, not because they want to gripe in general - which is a good thing
