2014 > 2013 > 2015

2014 was just awesome. Most flawless footy ever produced. Media had already warmed up for their circle-jerk over a Sydney flag. Judas and his COLA mates were humiliated in the worst possible fashion. Overcame so many hurdles during the season. That still is the masterpiece!

2013 was an ugly GF, shrouded by Buddy's future and the Essendope scandal. Was massive relief but the big win was the week prior v Cats and that emotion was not possible to match.

2015 was just icing on the cake. Another feather in the cap having traveled twice and play each week of the finals.

No brainer surely. Last year. That was perfect.

I like the Perth teams and wouldn't of begrudged either a flag had they got up. Sydney and the turncoat on the other hand....

- They were hyped to near breaking point
- Buddy had a good game
- No umpiring to moan about
- We ****ing destroyed them
- Embarrassed them. ****ing destroyed them.

2014 was the sweetest win - however for me 2013 will always be my favourite day overall. It was the first GF win I got to see live. The crowd was amazing - the Dockers fans were good fun. Going out afterwards just had so much jubilation about after going one better than 2012. We went to the Corner Hotel afterwards and there were Hawks fans everywhere and we sang the song every 10 minutes or so. The vibe was good this time - but it was different. The feelings of relief in 2013 added to the celebrations I feel.

2014. The adversity in the year. Losing buddy and every one writing us off, injuries to key players all year, losing Clarko for 5 weeks but never stumbling and of course going into the granny as underdogs. No one expected us to win, no one wanted us to win...and we DESTROYED them!

For me, beating Sydney was the most enjoyable

The best of the three is easily this years. The path we had to take and set backs along the way made this one that much better

I know it's not one of the options, but 08 still gives me the most pleasure of the recent ones.

Broke our biggest drought since we started winning flags, got us to double figures in flags, shocked the football world by beating one of the most dominant teams in history, got Crawf a flag and it became his last, glorious game. What a fairytale.

And that dominant team just happened to be Geelong, who I love beating. And it's not coz I hate them the most, it's coz they hate us so much.

And, more than anything, I was there, and watching that mindboggling game unfold before my eyes is simply surreal now.

2008 was awesome because it was against one of our fiercest rivals and after a long period without success.

However 2014 took it to another level against a team I despise for many reasons and the Buddy factor. And the result gave me total closure over Buddy leaving. Couldn't have dreamt it that way.

In 2014 we were regarded as rank outsider. Buddy was playing for the opposition for more premierships (because he thought he was Hawthorn) and the Shitney team had the world convinced that they were the greatest team since the Avengers took on Loki and the Hulk called him 'Puny God" and beat him about like a rag doll on the concrete floor.

Enter the Hawthorn outfit led by Captain AFL himself, Luke Hodge. And the way they dove into the swans, it was like a feeding frenzy. It was like the lives of each and every Hawthorn player was on the line and if they didn’t win that game they faced imminent extinction, such was their ferocity and focus on the ball and opposition. Neither were neglected. With the grace of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, courage of Spartacus and determination of Thomas Edison they sliced through Shitney in a football lesson that should not be forgotten!

For me it has to be 2013. It may not have been our best performance, but it was our most crucial.

If we had lost that one, that would have made it back to back Grand Final loses. All we'd be hearing about after that would have been the "2008 Bradbury Premiership".

Also, with 2013, we wouldn't have gotten anywhere near winning a three-peat.

Of the last three, the 2014 flag against Sydney gets my vote.

It was an incredible year for the Hawks where they overcame immense adversity. Buddy (one of the most dynamic players of the past decade) left for Sydney, Clarko was struck down with a debilitating illness and out of action for 5 weeks, they lost some crucial games, and i recall hearing that we lost something like 60+ games from our best 22 due to injury and suspension (Lake, Mitchell, Rioli, Gibson, etc.)

For the Hawks to win the GF so comprehensively after all that, makes the 2014 the sweetest - also, I was watching it with a house full of Sydney supporters who were barely interested after 1/2 time!

NB: going back a bit, 1989 was a pure classic, and 2008 was unexpected so they are my favourites of all time!

Definitely 2014 for all the obvious reasons.

But don't discount 2013. Loved that we heard nothing but how Freo had the best pressure beforehand. We freaked them out so much with our pressure they sprayed everywhere in front of goal. If I hear one more "if they would have kicked straight yada yada" comment.....(!) They were rattled. We rattled the bejesus out of Freo.

14 was part two. Hawthorn pressure was even better in that 1st qtr. Moment of the match for me was Roughy's bump on Hannerbury. Remember thinking how much we wanted it when I saw that.

15 was Cyril's day for me (obviously). So good he has been fit this year and this game capped it off. Sick of Sizzle doubters. They can suck a fat normie

2014. I think even taking away the fact that they beat us two years before, and the Buddy thing, and the hot rivalry during that year, and the fact that is was our best ever game - we came in as the underdogs, and for that reason 14' and 08' will remain special.

I will always love 2008 the most.

I remember the Adelaide final in 2007 which was one of the most amazing nights ever culminating in Buddy's goal from 50 with his trademark inside out ball swing.

Then the Hawks matched forward the following year and I was hell bent on mouthing off all grand final week because I thought we were going to get smashed.

I still remember being at the game and going to the toilet during the 2nd quarter when the Hawks were getting annihilated but Geelong could not find a way to score goals. I missed the Ottens missed open goal. The whole back are of the G was empty - it was eerie.

And then the third quarter happened. The end of the third quarter is the most fun I have ever had at a football game. Ever. It was absolutely amazing.

2013 was relief
2014 was revenge which was nice but the day seemed to have a certain anger to it.
2015 was all icing

Enjoyed all three Premierships but 2014 is the best of the three flags. :D:thumbsu:

SPANG!!!! - THE NEW LAKE!!!! :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

2014 felt like a triumph of good versus evil. A victory not just against a very worthy opponent, but the entire corrupt AFL establishment. I will never enjoy a game more than that.

This year only by a whisker over 2014. Just hate the eagles so much and the crap I copped throughout last week about how we were going to get smashed and maybe the fact I watched it in room with a dozen Eagles supporters it was oh so sweet :D

Hard to Judge because all are brilliant and I've been at all 3, 2013 was mostly relief, 2014 revenge on COLA and buddy was ****ing brilliant and 2015 the Icing on the cake.... If I had to pick maybe 2014 just because of how much I detest the Cola Kids.
