Thanks for that the_insider (AKA Lou Richards), just tip against us by a big margin and i'm sure we'll do fine.

Yeah righteo...that's done :thumbsu::p

I'm still recovering from my double header today, intersecting between Aurora Stadium and Invermay Park....can't believe what $7 can get you these days ;):thumbsu:

Also get the computer back tommorrow too, might be able to put the full scores on sometime tommorrow night :thumbsu::thumbsu:

You're not doing too bad with your tips though the_insider 17 out of 21 with a match to go is pretty good.:thumbsu: Most of your margins were fairly spot on as well.

Just hoping North Hobart don't let me down tommorrow, they shouldn't do...but who know's, really depends which Hobart turns up :)

One thing I noted was the crowd today, bit disappointing at Aurora Stadium, abt 600-700 perhaps..

Dodges winning by only 41 points? Was it a case of Channel showing some fight, or Dodges lacking in it? (Hopefully the Channel men can answer)

Dodges had some of their key players out - Wiggins, Ling and a couple others.

Channel had a couple of their key players back (Crane and Chilcott who both showed some leadership that has been lacking this year) and if it wasnt for some silly undisciplined 50m penalties which resulted in goals to Dodges (I think it was about 4 easy goals from 50m penalties) it could have gone either way.

Congratulations to the Under 19 umpires - just when I thought I had seen it all, these two actually surprised me with their performance, it was absolutely woeful, even the two reserves umpires actually apologised to one of our trainers when he took a couple of drinks to them at quarter time for the U19 umpires performances!.

Senior Umpires were no better either. If looks could kill, Coach "Bullfrog" Johnstone would have certainly made mincemeat out of the two field umpires!

Channel look like they might actually beat Triabunna based on the Bunna's performance against Huonville today.

Ahhh speaking of umpiring, the North L'ton crowd certainly got dug into the umpires today for a few questionable decisions in the seniors. I thought the umpiring there was fairly good for most of the day, 7/10 :thumbsu:

Although the Goal Umpire over the road in the OL's/Campbell Town match had a few choice words to say to a spectator at half time for allegedly bringing grog onto the ground, wasn't too far away from hitting him but thankfully common sense prevailed!
He didn't umpire for the remainder of the match, gave the duties to a kid to do.

Yep totally agree with that :thumbsu:
Got a lot of time for him, great player for both the Maggies and the Tigers in the TFL, and finished out his career at the 'Mont kicking bags in the Southern Ammo's - well respected by all clubs and by footy people in general.
Is the shitfight over that article quoted one of the reasons why he left the goal umpiring and field umpiring ranks and become 2IC at the Glenorchy 3's?

Yes, that would be it Kingpin

well... I've never heard the full story behind Cary's departure, so I can't really give a definitive answer on this one. I imagine there would be other factors involved though

was anybody else at the Lindisfarne v Central Hawks game yesterday?

No worries TF :thumbsu:

Just heard Hobart Lions beat North Hobart by 6 points at the TCA.

North were 31 points up with about 10 minutes to go and the Lions banged home six late ones to get up with the last kick of the day.

Good effort by them ... $hithou$e by the Dees

Demons looked very flat there.
Final score: Hobart Lions 16.13 (109) - Nth Hobart 15.13 (103)
Another poor crowd by the looks of it, would've though it would've been bigger given there was no other competition impeding it.

That blokes a nutter. I don't know why he's allowed to do any duties. Both games between Old Scotch and OL's this year he jumped on the ground and got involved in the brawls. He has the intelligence of an ape.

That seals Hobart's finals spot, and slams Lauderdale's finals asperations.
Still totally amazed that the finals spots are all sealed with 6 weeks to go!!

Nice find! :thumbsu:
I remember vaguely something about Channel belting the living bejezuz out of the old Lachlan Bombers back in '96, an old mate of mine that lived just along the road from me, who just got out from a little stretch in the 'Palace' was playing for Lachlan at that time (he played for Railway before he went in), and he reckoned most of the blokes were half-cut when they played each week.
I think they lasted one more season after that before folding and Hobart took their spot in the SFL along with the rest of the Huon teams that joined up.
Do you happen to know what Lachlan's final score was mate?
That's seriously great work :thumbsu:

Lachlans score was 1.0-6, a 390 point belting. Got the NTFL and the SFL scores researched and stored away. Room's just bursting with stuff atm!

geez, if that's the figure they're reporting, I'd hate to think what the actual crowd was

That's the figure from the paper, in brackets too...
From the highlights there looked to be a few more than normal, but 2152, like Kingpin states quite often, "Rubbery Figures"

Wonder what they'll say after they get trounced by Sandringham next Saturday??

Did Koulouriotis even get to say anything? He wasn't quoted in the paper at all.

If they lose by 95 or less next Saturday it'll count as a "better fight", I'm sure. They might even be allowed to lace their water bottles with brandy, you know, against the cold.

Got our "Fund raiser for Tasmanian Football" raffle tickets at the NTJFA yesterday which are going to be very hard to sell!
1st prize Toyota Yaris 3 door hatch(tipped to be the fleet cars of AFL Tas next year)
2nd prize Tas Team of the Century signed by Eade, Hudson and Pritchard.
Value $2000.00
3rd prize Tas Devils Corporate hospitality at Aurora value $2000.00
4th prize Tas Devils Corporate hospitality at Bellerive value $2000.00
(Both of above would be conditional that you can consume $2000.00 worth of food and drinks - it would be hard to get anyone to go with you)
5th prize 10 year adult membership of Tasmanian Football Club
value $1000.00 (if it lasts that long):D

Hmmmm, average adult membership for the Devils is $65 I read from a membership leaflet...

65 x 10 = 650

Where did the extra $350 come from??

That blokes a nutter. I don't know why he's allowed to do any duties. Both games between Old Scotch and OL's this year he jumped on the ground and got involved in the brawls. He has the intelligence of an ape.[/quote]

Obviously, I didn't see if he did, probably didn't, but really at Invermay Park, open ground, small clubrooms, really...think rational

Ben Beames will be out for the rest of the year with Myrtleford due to a bad knee injury that will require a reconstruction. Real shame for Myrtleford as he was playing some great footy from all accounts
