You're not doing too bad with your tips though the_insider 17 out of 21 with a match to go is pretty good. Most of your margins were fairly spot on as well.
Dodges winning by only 41 points? Was it a case of Channel showing some fight, or Dodges lacking in it? (Hopefully the Channel men can answer)
Dodges had some of their key players out - Wiggins, Ling and a couple others.
Channel had a couple of their key players back (Crane and Chilcott who both showed some leadership that has been lacking this year) and if it wasnt for some silly undisciplined 50m penalties which resulted in goals to Dodges (I think it was about 4 easy goals from 50m penalties) it could have gone either way.
Congratulations to the Under 19 umpires - just when I thought I had seen it all, these two actually surprised me with their performance, it was absolutely woeful, even the two reserves umpires actually apologised to one of our trainers when he took a couple of drinks to them at quarter time for the U19 umpires performances!.
Senior Umpires were no better either. If looks could kill, Coach "Bullfrog" Johnstone would have certainly made mincemeat out of the two field umpires!
Channel look like they might actually beat Triabunna based on the Bunna's performance against Huonville today.
Yep totally agree with that
Got a lot of time for him, great player for both the Maggies and the Tigers in the TFL, and finished out his career at the 'Mont kicking bags in the Southern Ammo's - well respected by all clubs and by footy people in general.
Is the shitfight over that article quoted one of the reasons why he left the goal umpiring and field umpiring ranks and become 2IC at the Glenorchy 3's?
TFLUA_Tiger said:Yes, that would be it Kingpin
No worries TF
Just heard Hobart Lions beat North Hobart by 6 points at the TCA.
Demons looked very flat there.North were 31 points up with about 10 minutes to go and the Lions banged home six late ones to get up with the last kick of the day.
Good effort by them ... $hithou$e by the Dees
Demons looked very flat there.
Final score: Hobart Lions 16.13 (109) - Nth Hobart 15.13 (103)
Another poor crowd by the looks of it, would've though it would've been bigger given there was no other competition impeding it.

OK folks, let's crunch the numbers and dissect the weekend's play

Nice find!Huonville 47.29-311 (Joyce 14, McGregor 10) def Triabunna 4.4-28
*Huonville's highest SFL score since they started in the SFL, and amongst the top 5 scores since the STFL/SFL started in 1996
*Record score stands at 60.36-396 for Channel against Lachlan, July 1996
*Chris Joyce's 14 goal haul was 2 short of the individual record, Brad Howarth's 16 for Channel against Lachlan.
(About 80% right, can someone please verify these for me??)
Nice find!
I remember vaguely something about Channel belting the living bejezuz out of the old Lachlan Bombers back in '96, an old mate of mine that lived just along the road from me, who just got out from a little stretch in the 'Palace' was playing for Lachlan at that time (he played for Railway before he went in), and he reckoned most of the blokes were half-cut when they played each week.
I think they lasted one more season after that before folding and Hobart took their spot in the SFL along with the rest of the Huon teams that joined up.
Do you happen to know what Lachlan's final score was mate?
That's seriously great work
geez, if that's the figure they're reporting, I'd hate to think what the actual crowd was
Awesome stuffLachlans score was 1.0-6, a 390 point belting. Got the NTFL and the SFL scores researched and stored away. Room's just bursting with stuff atm!

Read in the Sunday Tasmanian that the Devils senior players (Stephens, Koulouriotis, Hall and Moran) were made to apologise for the insipid effort and "vowed" that they'll put up a better fight next time they are at home.
Words without actions mean so so much though don't they??
Wonder what they'll say after they get trounced by Sandringham next Saturday??
