just wondering who people rate as the top 5 players at every club in the sfl?

I will have a stab at the two Premier League Grand Finalists to kick things off - and to add a bit of spice will attempt to put them in order as well.

Glenorchy : 1. Piuselli
2. Curran
3. Kamaric
4. Glenn
5. Cornelius

Stiff: Newett, Corbett, M. Smith, Crouch

Clarence : 1. Sharpen
2. Setchell
3. Paine
4. Sharman
5. T. Geappen

Stiff: Beechey, Fielding, Williamson, Whitelaw

Think dual reserves premiership coach ben reid has been strongly recommended to the football club by newitt and also from newit to the football club. The club has also asked him to put his name up. the position will be advertised. Would be a great feather in the cap for a good bloke who has pretty much done an apprenticeship under newit who would be best coach in the STATE.
Ex Nn coach matt smith headed to nsw and takin a coupla boys with him Jade Hodge and Josh Hall, they are also apparently talkng to Ben Fagan although reported goin to Sheparton...All 4 for big coin, country league not up to our regional apparently. Any thoughts about my comments??

Fagan has signed at Mansfield in the powerful Goulburn Valley Football League.
The league is based around Shepparton, but Mansfield is about an hour and a half away and a bit over two hours from melbourne.
The club was chasing a versatile and athletic key position player to replace ex-Carlton and collingwood player Trent Hotton, follwoing his retirement after five years at the club.

Old Lion,

You've said a couple of weeks ago that you were told that among others Zac Clayton was leaving New Norfolk yet you have him listed in your Top 5 based on 2008 Availability?

Not a bad effort old tiger. Piuselli would be a certainty for Glenorchy, Long and Cox would be very stiff to miss out on North Hobart, I saw Delaney the other day and is the size of a house atm and is very much struggling to recover from the broken ankle that ruined the end of his season. So his availability next year is questionable as is Gilmore as if rumours are correct he has signed with Hobart. Down the dale if Mitch robinson wasnt there best player by the length of their oval then id be mightly shocked.

That is the word on the street, yes!

Jason Britten not rated in the top 5? Then again is he staying on in '08?

Isn't Josh Dykes going to St Virgils as claimed on this very thread some weeks ago?

Do you consider Nick Paine to not be in Clarence's top 5? Surely gets in ahead of Archer at least!

Josh Dykes is travelling overseas in 2008. Nick Clayton would be no where near NN top 5. Their top 5 would be lamb, mcculloch, britton, carver, murray

Nick Paine when fit, would be one of the best ball winners in the comp.... I can't think of anyone who would better him in the hard ball get department.

Apparent NTFA Division 2 goings on according to what I've heard........

Campbell Town - Will be in recess
Fingal - Attempting to buy premiership 2 (Bought more players apparently)
Uni-Mowbray - Splashing a bit of coin around. A brother of one of their new recruits said he was getting some decent money there.
Evandale - Will be about the same
Perth - Again splashing money around on ordinary players
Old Launcestonians - Ex heart and soul of OL's Alex Robinson has left the club to play with Old Scotch because "he's had enough of the crap". Will struggle if they don't go into recess.
Tamar Cats - Throwing coin around after saving their cash in the last few years. Have ex NEFU 100+ goal kicker Barron as new coach.
Old Scotch - We'll be strong on and off the ground again this year. Picked up well and haven't lost anyone although a lot of players have been offered big money at other clubs.
St. Pats - Will be looking good this year after picking up a number of Rocherlea players.

Rocherlea may be back in Div 2 also depending on their u/19's

Furthermore, what does David Kamaric have to do to get in your top 5? Has only won 2 or 3 B&F's in the last handful of years!

No Paine, no Kamaric.

I'm starting to lose faith in you very quickly!

The rumour mill has it Kamaric not at Glenorchy 2008,and Paine only had an ordinary year according to my Clarence source.

Paine only had an ordinary year according to my Clarence source, Archer can play Ruck CHF, CHB FB, or FF that is my reasoning.

Archer is a very powerful player. Injury problems may have limited his output. Apparently Brad Dutton is suiting up on the eastern shore this year.

So are you trying to say that Archer had a better year in '07 than "China"?

Kamaric won't be at Glenorchy next year - here's the annual chestnut that amazingly never turns out to be true.

Should it come true this time it would be a tragedy. Far too good a player to finish up at 28 years old.

Or is he on the move?

I'll offer $1.05 he'll be at Glenorchy in 2008!

Hi guys. First post here. I play for a struggling regional league club. Won't take much to fugure out who. Hope to bring some gossip to the column in the future.
