Exactly.. We're not going to bow to GWS wanting a pick upgrade when they have had 8 of the last 9 top 3 picks. They have been handed so much talent, its time to start trading them for established players since they didn't trade some of their high picks like they should have originally.
Shaw in a straight swap with Adams maybe slightly in our favour, but only just. While handing them another top 10 pick in upgrade puts it too far in GWS's favour.

We should take Shaw off the table, give them pick 10 for Adams and be done with it, shop Heater around elsewhere.

If the AFL went the other direction & kept ALL trades confidential & only released the final trades at the end of trade period, then everyone would be screaming. Most follow trade period everyday & are excited about potential trades & new players or better draft picks.
We cannot have it all. Some negotiations are tougher than others & will take longer, some negotiations will fail. The clubs will march to their own drum beat.
This period is for the clubs & players, the media & supporters are secondary (sideshow).
The media love it, like throwing chips out to seagulls.

Jeez we just finished a massive trade deal this morning, which obviously was our priority, and now I imagine they'll move onto this across the next couple days now that we/they actually know our draft position and what we're working with.

My source at the Etihad cafeteria tells me that Bucks and Leon Cameron had a lunch date meeting. Bucks had the risotto, and Leon had the nachos, however halfway through Leon decided he wanted the risotto and offered Nathan a straight swap for half his nachos. Bucks has declined the straight swap at this point, however if Cameron is able to add a sweetener (chocolate Cornetto) then we might see this trade done by the end of the day.
