Barker was sacked before the review started, which again was very disrespectful considering the service he had given. He made it clear he would not be there next year, but Sayers wanted to make himself sound ruthless by sacking him. Non-football people who think everything can be solved by sacking people. Was there an exit interview? Did they ask Barker about his thoughts and input? You can learn a lot about your operation by listening to people who leave. Did any of the people tasked with the review speak to him about the players? All good for the players to pot the coach, how about allowing the coaches to make observations about the players in an open manner.

borderline after the Eagles game the review was announced and Barker resigned… from memory same week !!

Yep. I fully expect an announcement next week that GWS will be his final game. Do not drag this charade on any longer.

A sad end and makes you wonder why he was ever appointed in the first place, what the players want and us supporters should have absolutely no bearing on who becomes coach, absolutely ridiculous.

Are we a professional sporting organization or what ffs.

4 coach sackings in 9 years. :$:$:$:$:$:$:$

It’s a shit period for the club no doubt, but we are honestly better than what we’ve dished out this season.

We need an experienced coach to set a high standard, put a sustainable gameplan into place and delist any player who won’t be contributing to the team.

A bunch of Corporates sitting on the Board who think that firing everyone is the answer to everything. We need more football people on the Board i.e. David Parkin and/or Greg Williams Sellars who can set them straight.

Barker walked, and Barker walking early in the piece says it all.

Oh I agree 100%, just saddens me we have to go through this again, just get it right this time ffs.

Strong disagree with the list isn't good enough etc.

God help you if you have little young kids and your trying to get them to be a Blues supporter, extremely hard sell.

Maybe not even that. Gone Monday, caretaker for final game so they can experiment, early surgeries/rest for a few players, play kids wherever and however they like.

Barker was sacked when he informed them he was not sticking around. Again what purpose did it serve to do that rather let him finish his stint? They did not replace him which only put more pressure on the rest of the coaches.

No, Barker threw in the towel, and the majority of organisations will just pay out outgoing employees rather than them staying, half arsing around and potentially poisoning the well on the way out.

In all fairness, he was a dead coach walking when they announced the Review mid-season. it was unfair and they lied, stating that it was not about the coach, and that he would be there next year. We all knew that was bulltish. Now the report is being leaked and it has slaughtered Teague. The review should have been done post-season without interference.
Only MLG said that it wasn't about the coach and only he didn't want the review

Moods, Barker jumped ship early to avoid what was coming.

My read was the review was never about true coach, it was about the football department which includes Teague. Somehow between Matt LeBlanc and Robbo it came out as “it’s not about Teague”… meaning it’s not about Teague specifically.
