The efforts of Teague and Pickering this last week in constantly slamming the club, the board and the captain at every press conference reminds me of when George Constanza was trying to deliberately lose his job at the Yankees.

Surely if Teague attaches one of our premiership cups to his car and calls out Sayers through a megaphone in the parking lot, that will be the final straw 😂

This is a mess.

Cripps' faults or form isn't a conversation topic for the coach's manager to be having publicly. Shame on Pickering and Teague. It's fairly obvious Teague's tenure is now over and Pickering is lashing out. Whatever empathy I had has pretty much disappeared.

I love this club; not a coach, not a player, not the boot-studder. Anyone in the footy department that isn't going to make this club better can GAGF. Players who think they are entitled to drive footy department decisions and undermine coaches can GAGF. All that matters is the club.

Get with the program on getting this once proud club back to where it should be or GAGF.

I reckon all media reports that have come out so far have been pure dart throwing trying to land something because our board for a change has been staunch and given the parasites nothing.. They were baying for blood and they didn’t get their easy kill today..

Would love to agree with this, but I read that there was a whole of club meeting for this morning, booked in weeks ago, but cancelled Sunday after our loss to GWS (and Teague's presser).

You have to be very careful these days, to ensure that sackings don't look preordained. Going about it the way they have could ruin a good guy's career, in what is a very small pond.

Pickering and Teague have played a strong hand, and good on them for that. Teague seems a great guy, and was a tough player and B&F winner for this club. Has displayed some poor coaching so he deserves to be in the spotlight, but it is perfectly reasonable that he should be given the chance to demonstrate he can turn this around by taking some hard feedback.

Everyone calling for his head from the outside looking in, regardless of their purported "good mail", needs to let due process take its course.

As a supporter group, we might be in a hurry, but we've been shit for a long while - so let's just chill, acknowledge this shitness, and let proven modern management strategies under the guidance of a Big 4 CEO help us out of this mess for once.

Cripps resembles that remark... his actions over time do nothing to prove he is not a coach killer.

Did you watch Teague's presser? Did you listen to Pickering? If you only read summaries, I recommend you listen first.

Yes to both. And as distasteful as I've found the review process and it's timing, Teague's position is now untenable. But players aren't off the hook either. Unacceptable performances and too much influence in footy department matters.

On the cancelling of the whole club ‘meeting’ this would have been what is commonly referred to as Mad Monday… and the reason it was cancelled probably had far more to fo with the Covid lockdown restriction imposed preventing ‘non essential’ staff from attending workplaces..

”To find out why it’s a debacle. Tom Morris joins us.” Not sure if I should bother watching the rest.

Edit: I did end up watching the rest and I will always associate “financial sedement“ with Tom Morris now. It wasn’t enough that he said it one time, he had a chance to correct himself and said “financial sedement” a second time.

Start winning, get the club in order and these 4 guys will talk about someone else

Right now I don't see too much wrong with what they are saying

Interesting spin that Teaguey has a chance if Clarko says no due to the issues related to Lyons Freo exit

Tom Browne is a knob & talks complete sh*t.

People need to remember our board have been/are business professionals, to suggest that all of a sudden a couple of board members have put a red light up on Ross Lyon is just Tom Browne's way of trying to hedge his bets.

The Lyon payout at Freo is old news & something the board would have been well aware of, it's not suddenly a startling revelation.

This process has not gone to the media's timetable & now these fools are just throwing up crap for the sake of click bait.

Sorry to come in here and ask a question that's probably been asked before, but scouring reddit and bigfooty it seems Teague hasn't had a lot of pull in the decision making process in both list management and recruiting his favoured team of assistant coaches; is that true? If that's the case I kinda think you have to back Teague and just give him a proper chance, as awful as the results on-field were this year

A report earlier this year stated that Teague was offered new assistants at the end of 2020 but opted not to make any changes. Keeping in mind, our assistant coaching lineup has been more or less static since 2018.

There was some argument around here as to who was to blame for this, but that's fallen away now that most of us assume both Teague and Brad Lloyd (head of football) are dead men walking.

The carry on by these guys based on pure speculation and mud slinging is the bottom of the pits. A disgrace.
Haha. They spent most of the year playing clips of our defensive failings to give Teague a clip and are now outraged about the pressure on Teague? Haha

That is seriously embarrassing for those 4 on the couch and Tom Morris...Gerard Healy saying it's a total disaster and "if the Board hasn't done their due diligence on Ross Lyon...", give me a freaking breaking. These dopes would have zero clue what the Board is even discussing, let alone whether they've done their due diligence on Lyon...and I know for a fact they have. They're all just vultures hovering over the Teague carcass.

Financial sedement...the dust/dirt in the bottom of your wallet.

I’ve been changing my opinion all year. I can forgive losses like North Melbourne where the injuries made it very difficult. But when you look at the whole year the lack of selection integrity, playing players out of position, lack of action and passion from the coaches box, terrible press conferences highlighting a lack of vision and a game plan and now taking a swipe at Cripps.

Everyone would rather Teague had worked out but it clearly hasn’t. Club shouldn’t be afraid to make a decision it believes in.

I think the club was right in getting rid of Ratten, Malthouse and Bolton. The real mistake was made in the hiring process of Malthouse and Teague.

They had to improvise because the day didn’t pan out as they hoped and planned for. Tom Morris was a “crumbing forward who soccered a goal“ when Wilson “hand-balled to him“ re Clarkson not coaching the Hawks post 2021. As their only voice on this point, Morris is now “an expert“ because of it! 😀😀🤔

David Teague is gone and his managers Patrick Cripps comments was the last straw. Not because as supporters we love Patrick or we are ignorant to his form over the past 2 years but because David Teague will have lost all respect within the playing group. His position has become untenable. IMO, whatever chance that Teague had to be kept as senior coach is now completely gone.

You can't have Teague as a dead man walking for a year while we wait for Clarkson to go on Holidays. That is Malthouse book signing all over again.

Need to burn the canoes

In order of preference
-Get Clarkson NOW
-Get Brad Scott
-Sign Teague to an extension beyond 2022

I was all on the Teague train, but the above is a legit coach-killing choice that Teague appears to have made.

Blind Freddy could see that John Barker and Stanton were complete dead wood. Why would Teague want to retain these two in particular? John Longmire brought in Don Pike, Melbourne brought in Chocolate Williams. Carlton should have done something similar, it appears they wanted to but Teague did not want change.

If Teague goes, there won’t be much sympathy from me, his choices where part of the problem.

If Teague has any self respect he'd have to rebuke those comments made on one of his players by his tosser of a manager. As a coach you stick fat to your players especially your captain, come hell or high water! Don't care if you think you're about to get the boot or what not but at present and time of those comments you're still coach of the footy club... I give Teague 24 hours to make the necessary retort regarding those comments otherwise I'll frog march him out of Princes Park myself.

Even though I still think Teague may survive, makes a whole lot more sense why things have gone for him as they have.

How do we really know if John Barker and Stanton were no good?

Unless you are inside the club then I'm not sure how anyone can make an accurate assumption.

Technically the meeting wasn't cancelled. It's reported Sunday night they were told to wait until instructed to attend. Then advised the following morning. Likely to keep the media in the dark (and partially why they are being ropeable and trying to create a fire that isn't there yet)
