Team Changes
In: Jones, Carroll, Frawley
Out: Davey (Foot), Bell (Hamstring), Garland (Hamstring)
Jones had to come in for Davey, Frawley in for Garland makes sense and my suspicions that Bell was injured might be correct. How the hell do you get promoted after being smashed by Cain Ackland I'll never know, but Carroll is back.

We have gone tall down back (maybe out of necessity with no other defenders available but Bode wouldn't feel too great). Bartram and Whelan are now the only small defenders, CJ is medium sized, so the likes of Frawley and Martin will have their agility tested playing on smaller opponents.

White and Yze must know there careers are over now, where as Carroll gets a chance of saving his, he has done it before in the last month of a season so it will be interesting to see how he goes.

Its up on melbfc.com.

Gee we wouldn't want to see the long standing tradition of mediocre Geelong forwards tearing Carroll a new arseh*le would we (Kingsley, Mooney, Hawkins) Time for Tom lonergan to join that illustrious list.

I'd like Frawley to go to S Johnson, give him one of the toughest gigs n footy see how he copes.

Dunn has to play on Bartel ahead of G.A. Jr. Bartel is in form, I can't see Ablett getting full game time, maybe Jones could use his new found accountability on him. That or Bruce can do the same as last week when he ran with Stanton (Although Stanton isn't a duckshit on any of the Cats midfielders)

I'm not expecting a blowout, and my god the season would almost be worth it if we got up :D, but if we can be there abouts for most of the game I'll be reasonably satisfied.

Go Dees

Geelong Team
B: Harley, Scarlett, Mackie

HB: Taylor, Hunt, Enright

C: Kelly, Rooke, Bartel

HF: Ablett, Mooney, S Johnson

F: Stokes, Lonergan, Selwood

R: Ottens, Ling, Corey

Int: Blake, Byrnes, Gamble, Prismall

Eme: Varcoe, Hogan, Tenace

In: Ablett, Byrnes

I'm predicting:
Carroll - Lonergan
Warnock - Mooney
Frawley - SJ
Martin - Gamble
Whelan - Stokes
Bartram and CJ on the resting midfielders.

Green and Sylvia to start at full forward.

Also it wouldn't surprise me if we flood a bit (which would be a little disappointing) and try to make them kick high into their forward line to favour our tall defenders.

I'll be looking for a big game from Valenti in the middle, and hope Buckley and Morton keep their confidence up and keep backing themselves.

Not sure about how we are going to kick bags of goals, maybe it will be good if the rain stay although that does destroy the footy. I reckon we give stef the job on Mooney, because hell have speed and agility to match and beat him, also means that he will be up the ground more so less pressure.

On a side note, My school had the pleasure of Wona and Wheels visiting. They spoke briefly about how they ended up playing for the dees, although wonna was really shy similar to his pres conference. Then they had a kick with us and then i got to have a photo with them, one of the best days of my life!!!!!!!!!!!

He's gonna do it again. Mooney will only kick 1 or 2 and Carroll will be on the list next year.

Carroll is contracted for next year so unless you want to pay out his contract he will be on the list. I doubt very much if he is tradeable. White and Yze have not been selected because the decision has been made in my opinion not to give them new contracts. Whether the hierarchy will select them for a farewell game in Round 22 so we can farewell them in style is anyone's guess.

I reckon CJ will get the job on Steve Johnson. I think his defensive work is underrated. Remember he did hold Ryan O'keefe to a handful of touches when we played Sydney, and O'keefe is one of form forwards of the comp at the moment.

Yeah definitely looks like this is make or break for Carroll. If he doesn't get in our best this round he can pretty much kiss his career goodbye.

We will get rodgered tomorrow night. The only hope is that Kent Kingsley gets so excited at the prospect of his bunny returning that he throws the Cats jumper on and leaps the fence to take a grab in the goalsquare.

I susect you are right about that tactic. Last week Ottens spent a lot of time in the forward line, might well happen again this week. That puts a big tall in the mix.

Good luck boys, hoping for a great game.

We have gone in with a defensive side tonight, or a lot of defenders anyway. But look at geelong they spread their goals amongst all their players. Mooney has been the only player in 2 years at geelong to kick 6 of more in a game. So its important we pay attention to all 6 forwards not one or 2 key forwards.
