Evacuation priority list

The nearest hospital is about an hour's drive from the area, the BBC's Dan Johnson reports.

The boys' families are waiting there, our correspondent says.

He adds that doctors assessed the boys inside the cave on Saturday, deciding on a priority evacuation list - with the weakest being brought out first.

Those two are the weakest of the lot.
And a 4th ambulance has arrived.

Four boys expected to 'walk out' soon
Lieutenant-General Kongcheep Tantrawanit has said another four of the boys are expected to walk out "shortly".

They are currently at the divers' "base camp", inside the cave system, he said.

"Four boys have reached chamber three and will walk out of the cave shortly," he said, according to news agency AFP.

A reporter at the scene has apparently been told by rescue teams at the entrance of the cave that the lowered water levels have shortened the journey out of the cave.

Many chambers are reportedly walk-able now, which would go some way to corroborating the Reuters report.

Further rain, however, is forecast later today.

Surely the coach gets the axe once he's out.
He should really be charged with reckless conduct endangering lives. Surely you'd know how dangerous going down in a cave during monsoon season would be with the potential of a flooding downpour occurring at any time.

Is it just me that cringes everytime one of our media outlets says "Australian" either medic, diver who is assisting in the rescue. Does it really matter where they're from? Everyone there is trying to help and achieve the best possible outcomes. Feels like a dick-measuring contest having to mention "Australian".

You'd think so, but news is coming out that Simon Goodwin has earmarked the cave as being the destination for Melbourne's pre-season training for the 2019 season.
