Great player, fantastic and very sad to see him go. Thomas can eat one but Heath can never be considered anything less than a Collingwood champion, it's etched in history after all, which is no small beer.

He'll set himself up for life and I hope he returns after his playing career with no hard feelings. I think he'll always be a Collingwood man.
agreed. :thumbsu:

Heater did not ask to be Traded and Only Went because of a Mini Re-Build that Bucks is doing.

Have Great Memories and helped us get a Young Gun.

Can't feel bad with Heater.

Always be Remembered for the Run Down on Nick Reivoldt in the 2010 GF Replay

Surprised to see the universal love for Heath. He was a player Collingwood invested in heavily with all the off field issues (betting saga, drink drive offences etc) and then decides to leave. Didnt even show up to the Copeland, when at that time he was still a contracted Collingwood footballer.

Hell, we are even paying some of his contract to play against us this year. Just shows how much he burnt the Collingwood bridge for a few extra bucks.

Gave us a great GF moment, and seven-eight years of great service but he is no better than Dale Thomas in my mind.

I think you'll find that Heater was pushed out more than anything. The big deal he accepted was just making the most out of a poor situation. You comparing him to the man we don't speak of is incredibly harsh IMO.

Heater will be missed.

Has anyone heard from Jmac? he will be having a heart attack at 2 Collingwood stalwarts leaving in the one trade period :D
Well done Shaw, great servant to the club and the smother on Rooey was phenominal.
BUT you were too much of a liabilty in the end. All the best with the Giants and I look forward to seeing you spraying your teammates and giving away ridiculous frees when we play against you.

Heath has handled himself exceptionally since he told the club he wanted to leave. Will of course finish as a Collingwood legend but I wish him the best of luck at the Giants. Like others have said, that smother has literally changed so many lives and we will be forever grateful :D

There should be absolutely no bad blood from the supporters towards Heater. Tbh, the flak he copped this year really angered me, because you knew he was giving it his 100% and the only mistake he made was caring too much.

I really hope Heater has no ill feeling towards the club, he will always be a Collingwood man.

From everything we know. Heath didn't want to leave Collingwood. He was pushed. Once the club tells you that you're no longer wanted - there is no choice. I'm sure he is sad to not be finishing his career as a Magpie.

Thomas should never be welcome back to the Club.
Heath should be forever be a favorite son.

Thanks Heater... for everything you made me smile about while in Black and White.

And Thankyou for choosing GWS:thumbsu:

I will be at Skoda alot next year to cheer you on.

All GWS need to do now is sign up Dids and i'll probably buy a GWS membership.

Now I have a second favorite team.

The best part is he's gone to a team that wont do us any damage. Well done Heater!

not right now but they will be in finals contention very soon. I think they'll do a Gold Coast and finish mid-table in 2014 (now that they've got over their 2nd year blues)
Their recruitment has been pretty good - they picked up a very good ruck plus a great rebounding HBF/midfielder. And they still have picks 1 and 2. And whoever they can get in the PSD

I am sorry to see him go and after the smother never felt we would lose that GF so thanks very much Heath.

I think he signed own leaving ticket from the Pies though and I am very happy with the player we are getting in return and Heath in return gets a contract far better than he would ever receive from Collingwood so win win from a Pies perspective and that is the only one I am interested in.

Good luck to Heath he just needs to fly right to set himself up for life and from a Pies perspective he could not have lobbed at a better club for us:thumbsu: but I also think it was the right time for a separation from him it is up to him how he goes for the rest of his career.

He didn't decide to leave he was given the arse by Buckley.

Sad to see him go, but he'll be back at the Club when he retires, that's for sure.
I doubt it. We sacked him, his brother and his uncle and we reputedly reneged on a coaching offer back in the day for his father when he was coaching Preston. I am not sure about his other uncle (Neville) who went to SA with John Cahil. He may be the only Shaw not dirty on Collingwood but I wouldn't bet on it.
