thanks for the kind words, but i disagree, we are very much out of form (not to take anything away from you guys, you've impressed me this year) and have the following missing at the moment:

Bruce
Neitz
Miller
Whelan
Jamar
Read

Take 6 of a teams best 22 out and they'd want to have serious depth (especially when it's our best midfielder, CHF and FF/captain). We do not have serious depth .

We had no less than 4 19 year odls playing on Saturday, which some people use an excuse, but I noticed you guys had what, 6 first year players?

Hey hold on RJ, don't be confused by Confucius! He means, in other words, teams will invariably have injuries and suspensions - therefore a team is only as good (strong) as its depth (for example the extent of talent amongst the reserves).

When the likes of Read, Whelan and Jamar are in your best 22 then you have serious issues.

Melbourne is a very overrated team.

whelan is one fo the best close checkign small defender going around, i can't remember the last time a small forward actually beat him. Could have been a different result if we had an accountable player to take williams on the weekend.

Read isn't very skilled, but his agression is important to us. We don't ned him to win, he's pretty much fighting with 4 or 5 others for our 22nd spot.

Jamar is a developing back up ruckmen, he plays about 5-10 minutes a quarter, but helps to rest white.

Read is nowhere near your best 22. He is too busy a cat at Sandy.

no team in the comp has the depth to cover 6 of their best and still win games no worries ...not even against lower clubs ..

even the great lions teams who won 3 flags in a row would not have won taking out 6 of the best against near full strength teams ..

I don't see the hawks as a lower club per se. They have been competitive all year, and I think the win on Saturday could be a major confidence booster, the only query I have is over your physically draining style of play, not sure you guys can keep up the intesity all year. But good luck hawkers.
