I would love to get this guy, will become a world class centre back once he moves to a bigger club. Like vermalean when he came to arsenal. His also very versitle.

He's pretty slow. I'd much prefer an athletic CB in the same mold as Kompany and Phil Jones, as I think they're much better suited to the EPL.

But of course, that's only if Spurs go for another defender. Our top priority should still be Seydou Doumbia.

As for Chelsea:

Names? I'd say we would look at Van der Wiel, Cahill, Godin, Subotic, as for a striker, who knows?

Would like to think the Milan deal with tevez will get done so we can have a shot at pato. also this van buyten guy doesnt look too bad of along term prospect... can't see us getting rid of torres though. i think avb should throw everything he can at gotze in the summer break, he is EXACTLY what we need. subotic i don't see being done, man utd apparently are interested. but van der wiel and cahill and peraps godin could happen.

cant wait til we get rid of Petr "Hesitation" Cech either, anyone know how Thibaut Courtois is doing on loan at atletico?

So that's why David Luiz has been setting the world on fire...

Daniel?

Must be about 30 now, and not really good enough to play in a back 4. OK in the centre of a back 5 though, but doubt it would happen.

has doumbia expressed any desire to move away from russia?

He said he's open to a Spurs move:

He's exactly what we need and should do whatever it takes to get him, but knowing us, we probably think we're all set with Adebayor, Defoe and Pavlyuchenko.

Just because you picked up a spud doesn't mean every pacey center-back is doomed for mediocrity.

He will be good. whether that is at CB remains to be seen. Potentially a good CDM or RB. time will tell. or maybe we'll get rid of him and you will pick him up a'la Gallas

He will leave but not in January. CSKA still have a few fish to fry and wont even think about selling him until then.

Did LOL at Luiz being a spud. One month of bad football makes you a spud then heck even Gareth Bale could fit into that category with that disasterous month he spent playing as a RW early on in the year

Everyone has a price.

and I'm not even the one who implied he was a spud in the first place, once again Embers, you have to read previous posts. With that said, it's no surprise you hate admitting to being wrong. People aren't saying he's crap based on one month of football, he's always lacked intelligence on the pitch, it's just that he was recently exposed for it.

CSKA Moscow arnt a club who has "the price" that low. They are a big club facing Real Madrid in a few weeks time. To sell him in January they will demand 30 mill+ and I cant see Tottenham offering that

Hes had a good month though as has the whole Chelsea defense. John Terry probably been player of the month so far over the whole league. Its Petr Cechs boobery that has cost them. Luiz is what he is. A ball playing CB. Hes the best passing CB in the world and once Chelsea get back to utilising him for that he will play like he did in the last 6 months of last season where he was Chelseas best player in the run home by some distance

Many other things you could attack me on too btw. The drop off in form of Anthony Pilkington for one thing but ey atleast im giving a opinion on things rather then stating the obvious. Silva is a good player yay type of comments that alot of people tend to do nowadays (not necessarily you but others)

Exactly. He hasn't been helped by our midfield's predictability and lack of speed and creativity. lampard is a shadow of what he once was. AVB has been quoted saying we don't need more midfielders either..... oh dear.

I remember his first 2 or 3 seasons for Spurs when they couldn't win with him in the team. It spanned something like 25 games.

We have a long standing interest in Subotic and until Man U's name started getting mentioned it was viewed as a done deal that Subotic would be a Blue within the next season or 2. I still think we have a chance, it just might cost a bit more!

Would love to get Gotze and Pato. Although I can't see us parting with the money required for both.

Agree Cech is losing it. Courtois has been playing great for Atletico. Has established himself as number 1, even with Asenjo in the team. Asenjo was rated as a top talent, but was eclipsed by De Gea, and was expected to shine again as Atletico number 1 this term, but TC has passed him. He has leaked a few goals, but Atleticos defence in general hasn't been great (which worries me as we're reportedly chasing Godin). Seems to have all the tools but the club seems to want to take a slow approach with him. If we threw him into our first team and he wasn't quite up to it yet it could be disastrous. Only if we ditch Turnbull and get a decent back-up would it happen.

I think he has the tools. He looks football dumb out there, but I think it's the opposite. He sees where the balls going but hasn't quite learnt what he can and can't get to so he just goes for everything and half the time ends up being late rather than sitting back. Needs to settle down a bit.

As for Coledinho suggesting he was our best player in the second half of the last year, I dunno about that... Scored some crucial goals, but was still guilty of making silly mistakes and giving away penalties. Scored against Man U, but probably should have been red carded too. He looked to have potential. Has taken a (small) step back this year. The high defensive line hasn't helped, and now it looks like we've dropped that to a point so that's good news.

Back on the transfer window... Current reports are:

Cahill almost a done deal to Chelsea. Reported fee of around £7m. May include McEachran on loan as Kakuta is being recalled and sent on loan to Dijon.

Chelsea and Liverpool target Eduardo Vargas has joined Napoli. Probably wanted guaranteed game time.

Sunderland linked with £7-8m bid for Bobby Zamora.

QPR looking to take over Hleb's contract from Barca.

Fulham interesting in veteran Olic from Bayern Munich.

Man City and AC Milan ARE in talks over Tevex according to latest reports.

Arsenal looking to offload Chamakh and looking to bring in Rodallega.

Kaka considering leaving Madrid. Chelsea long been linked. Some papers say Arsenal interested, but I doubt they would pay the wages.

Anderlecht midfielder Lucas Biglia's agent has stated that both Manchester United and Arsenal are keen to secure the player's services.

Chelsea tracking Chilean youth international Igor Lichnovsky, 17, who currently plays as a centre half for Universidad de Chile.

Spurs looking at 18yo Birmingham keeper Jack Butland. Is an England U21 international. Highly rated. £2m reported fee.

Milos Krasic's agent says Chelsea interested in January.

asenjo hasnt been the same since his injury. shame really, he was going to be a world class keeper.

if kaka hasnt left madrid yet then i doubt he will

unload chamakh, bring in rodallega. arsenal need to splash the cash and get a world class striker to not only play with rvp, but to replace him too. rodallega certainly isnt that world class talent.

Massive coup for Juventus if true but I doubt he'd leave.
Why would they sell/not play him? Gets a goal a game pretty much.

No Rodallega please, rather Odemwingie. Can't expect too massive quality as they'd be rotated. Arshavin and Chamakh need to go asap, need at least one replacement though.

We will not bring in another world class striker. That would mean changing the entire formation and it's just not Wenger.

Higuain apparently off to juventus for 24 million

This has got to be garbage.
