but there are certainly different methods to Rebuilding a list.
Sure is. A right way and a wrong way. I'm happy that you have faith in Matthew "Wrong Town" Clarke.

I'm not convinced Hawks have the list to win a flag. My guess is they pull up short. While it's potentially possible to go the distance, I think it's way more risky. Essendon and Saints level risky.

I like Ough, but I definitely take Moraes or Oliver first.

The issue with taking Ough is we are already trialling a 196cm winger in Maric.

So unless Maric goes to defense, a possibility, where would Ough play long term?

Agree I'd jump on Oliver if we missed out on TT.

We need good left foot kicking players coming out of defense and in the middle of the ground.

Lindsay and Oliver tick those boxes nicely.

Lindsay, Reid and Allan all on the board out our pick, they chose Allan for us (what a surprise), Port take Reid and Fremantle get Lindsay.

Would make me sick if that eventuated, lol.
That's a bloody ridiculous outcome. We're much more likely to split it

If Lindsay reid and Allen are all there at our pick, we will not split it.

If I had to put money on it we will would take reid if we were comfortable he wasn't a flight risk and if not then Lindsay.

Sorry, but that's amateur hour. In all sports from under 8s to professional, it's generally one team's top few players versus the other team's top players. there are variations, but this is typically how sport works.

No point building your fringe if your top players can't compete. Furthermore, your fringe is much harder to develop when your top end isn't very good. Put the exact same player into both a bottom 4 side and a top 4 side, they will perform much better in the top 4 side.

You need to focus on finding your top end. These players are limited and hard to find. Your bottom 6 is relatively easy to find. Most of them are guys who are able to play to potential because they're in a good team.
Ask the Roos how adding all that top end talent has gone for them?

Carlton and Melbourne before them?

The expansion sides?

This obsession over believing almost solely prioritising the draft, despite all evidence pointing to the contrary makes no sense.

Yes, if you have a talent like Reid staring you in the face, you don't give it up to dilute your draft hand but on exposed form, only Ashcroft is that player in this draft and he's going to Brisbane.

People are seduced by the likes of Daicos, Sheezel and Reid, without realising that many draftees around that point end up being Elijah Tsatas instead.

You have a better chance at getting top end talent early in the draft, yes. There's no guarantee they end up being so though.

Also, your top players are always going to compete. It's the fringe that lets them down.

Weird take.

North:
They needed some mature talent, but not at the expense of top 10 picks.
ps you think they're not coming?

Dees and Blues:
The players clubs draft inside top 10 has changed. No one is picking ballerinas like Gibbs and Scully anymore. No one is picking kids who can't kick. You mention Tsatas, but he's just another ballerina who shouldn't have been picked inside the top 10.

But this is irrelevant. You think you need to bolster the fringe before you find the top end talent. Sorry, but they're the words of someone who doesn't understand football. You probably go to the game every week and think we're shit because of Rotho, or Witho, or Nelso etc.

I would recommend you sign up to the Rookie Me Central draft guide.

As an example - here is the write up on Lindsay. Summary - above average or average in everything except Disposal where he is elite. It means he is more outside, but with Harley, Ginbey, Graham, etc, that is not a bad thing to add.

Over the years, my view is that these guys do it well.

He’s our man.

Will be interesting to see who we go if Lindsay and Reid are there.

Yep always a good read.

They rate Bo Allen quite highly too (9th in the power rankings)

This is absolutely not the case in the AFL, there’s 22 players in a team.

If it were the case GWS/Carlton/Bulldogs would have dominated the last three years.

I'm begging can someone please tell me the correct pronunciation of Jack Ough's last name?

Off

At least in the commentary from one of his game highlights they were calling him off
