I know there has only been one episode but I am already sick of the short people companion - her voice is almost as grating as the unforgetable and equally annoying ......

Lennieeeeeee

I couldnt believe the drivel and whining she was going on with when carrying the side of beef - pity she didnt have a mishap on the zip line !!!!

And after 'giving' a taxi away to the other team proved the downfall of the first team eliminated; proves the old adage - nice guys finish last.

Memo to the team of Jesus freaks; faith in God will move mountains but it helps if you bring your own shovel - you gotta work as a team and not rely on God to look after you

Great show

PS - agree, Christie is a fox

First time I'd watched the show was last night, and while I thoroughly enjoyed it, the aussie version similar to it a few years ago was so much better. I'm not sure if anyone else will remember it, I think it was hosted by the same guy that does The Mole.

The pairs had to go around Australia with rather cryptic clues in their own cars. It required a lot more intelligence, and seemed somewhat more realistic. As opposed to these Americans who seem to have the exact location of everything, etc.

And while I really did like The Amazing Race, how come they never showed them having to change currency or eating, sleeping etc?

The first episode was really good! :) :D

My view of the teams so far:
* Donny and Allison who finished first after the first one are my pick.
* The "Bowling Moms" really impressed me. They communicate well and won't get knocked out early.
* The two brothers are a huge threat- they remind me of Drew and Andy. ;)
* The injury to the war veteran will count against the father-daughter team but he is tough. A dark horse.
* The team of cousins looked gone and yet finished well. The midget will be written off- I can't see them winning but they will not be knocked out early. I see the weak link in that team being the other lady, who could not carry the meat!
* The team of models (the couple) who walked to the boat will get better if they improve thier communication.
* Colin and his girlfriend look like a challenger and can't be written off. A slow start, they could have been a front runner if they got on the right plane.
* Chip and Kim suffered from missing the clue and yet finished strongly despite looking like finishing last.
* The twins also suffered from skipping the clue- however they could form alliances with other teams and will be an outsider.
* The internet couple turned nasty on that boat- can't see them winning but they look strong so far. Good communicators, a little slower than the rest but play the game smart.

That midget running with the beef is the funniest thing I have ever seen.

Ahhh man,I don't think I've laugh any harder for years.I know it was wrong but I just couldn't look away.

This show is by far the best reality T.V you'll ever see.

My early hates are the
- elderly couple(tokenism)they're taking up a serious contenders spot.

-the Christian models  Dumbs as dog shyte.

-The Bowling Mums. x2 Also not serious contenders.

I haven't developed a favourite yet but I'm leaning to the dad who hurt his knee and his tasty daughter.

During the ad break, I rang my mum, sister, best mate and my pub to all put it on ch.7 to see the midget carrying the meat. I had leakage I was laughing so hard. God it was good. I want the mpeg.

Watched this for the first time last night and enjoyed it immensely. Wish I'd seen the previous series'.

My two cents worth on last nights show.

Couldn't standard the Army guys daughter.
short people partner will bring them unstuck, stop whinging woman.
Twins were driving me crazy too.

Loved the bowling mums ~chuckle, you go girls.

Great start to the show, how stupid were they all at the start to make that huge dash to their bags only to have 4 people trip over. The race is not going to be won in the forst 200m FFS.

Already I am getting sick of the whole God thing, God aint going to help you board a plane on time

I was stoked to see the military dad and his daughter get through, I dont think that dip in the pool would of helped his knee.

The twins drive me nuts, annoying and bitchy, cant get much worse.

The midget is a classic, good for a laugh but not much more, cant stand her for some reason, seems to think the world is against her. Her cousin is even worse.

I think it was kim and Chip, the married couple they are probably an early favourite of mine, never seemed to take it too seriously, wish them well.

I cant stand the manners of alot of the contestants, if I was a taxi driver and all I heard was "ondalay ondalay" I would just stop the ********ing car and kick their sorry arses out. I know its a race with alot at stake but christ, using some manners go along way too.

I think the Daughter and her military dad are popular around here. Im hoping they do well too. It was great to see them scrap over the line last night. Let's see if the models can handle getting their nails dirty. The two brothers seem iffy though.

The Great Chase, I believe? Was hosted by some B-grade Ch 9 celeb (Matt?) who was trying to be Grant Bowler minus the mystery and failed. Not a patch on the greatness of TAR, although a lot cheaper to produce I'm sure! Hmmm, driving around NSW and Victoria or flying to Uruguay...let me think a sec... ;)

LOL Funny ******** wasn't it! Man I hate that short people cousin..how whiney is she..LOL. I didn't think Dennis and his girlfriend should have left..oh well..I was actually hoping the military dad and daughter would leave!

Didn't rate brilliantly but ok, Seven still 3rd for the night but it was close.

9 25.4%
10 25.4%
7 24.5%

Don't think Nine's switch to TIYL will change things much next week
What about Channel 2? They had Kath and Kim which would've slaughtered everything. I'm being forced to watch Kath and Kim, then watch the last part of the Amazing Race.

More on the ratings

Kath & Kim slaughtered everything at 8:30, 1.75m to SVU 1.34 (and maintained that for the next hour), the others under a million. ABC had 19.4 for the night to answer the earlier question.

TAR smashed Apprentice in the head to head half hour, 942k average overall for TAR, 711k Apprentice.
