This sucks. We finally make finals (knock on wood), and all this season will be remembered for is ****ing Essendon taking drugs.

Is Mark McVeigh not one of Hirds Best friends???...What a joke having his biased opinion. I believe Robinson over McVeighs version of what Hird told him or importantly did not tell him!!!
Bomber Thompson will coach Essendon next year. Take that to the bank.Anything he is questioned that relates to Robinson, he disagrees with what Robinson says, or says he doesn't know. Then when questioned about Hird, he practically creams his pants, and defends him tooth and nail. Seriously biased.
Also, what is up with Luke Darcy on the panel. His nervous twitching and his inability to sit still looks like he is peaking on something.
These are my thoughts I posted on the Dean Robinson interview thread on the main board:
Essendon are in complete meltdown. How can James Hird in February state "He would take full responsibility" for anything that happened at the club, and yet 6 months later Dank is gone, Robinson is gone, Evans is gone, Corcoran is under fire, Hird calls his position safe and believes he will be there next year.
If he is true to his word, and takes full responsibility, this is ENTIRELY hisfault. These people were hired, directly, or indirectly by him, and as a consequence, he needs to relinquish his position. He can walk, he can get pushed, either way, no way Hird should be coach in 2014. He has been the catalyst for far too much damage to the club, and only the clubs "Save the Messiah" mentality has assured his position thus far.
You could be onto something here. I think the Club are going to say that most likely Dank & or Robinson were up to shonky shit by trying to get the club to buy drugs that Dank would then sell for a his own gain...Either way you look at Hird etc. have been very naïve & brought the game into disrepute!Holy shit! Spike Mcveigh just implied that the list of drugs that were invoiced to the club werent supposed to be there. I think I know how this is going to play out:
We thought that the players were getting this...and for free
We were surprised by that list
We dont believe any of our players were injected with that
Dean Robinson and Steven Dank used for personal use or to sell
They tried to invoice club and thus were fired.
We stress that our players didnt take anything illegal or banned.
Fuuuuuuu

Yep...Either way Essendon & Hird are in serious trouble.Hmmmm I bet they argue nothing could have been done. As soon as they found out they outed them.
Absolute cringe worthy was McVeigh really was pathetically biased. As has been Tim Watson whenever he has spoken about Essendon & his sons tainted brownlow.I cant comment on this until the ASADA report is released, Mark McVeigh peel me a grape.

Hird wanted to out do Collingwood who he believed were cheating.
Was he called the weapon because he has helped to shoot Essendon in the arse? hahahaHopefully we see in one of the next few weeks #theweapon streaking at a bombers game Max Walker 12th man style with a placard "give me my job back"
Got to love #theweapon - already got a new career a bus driver - nice work

Agree, still don't like the idea of our boys playing against a side that potentially could win a flag in the next couple of years with this background. If they do win it in 2014 as I believe they have a great chance to, the cup presented should be made of copper....it'll turn green with time and be forever tainted omongst their legitimate cups. There is just too much evidence around now for the AFL to negotiate a watered down penalty of any kind. This club needs to be made an example of. Unfortunately for the players, in previous cases players pleading naivety in being given the wrong stuff by others they trust has not been a good enough defence. I can't see why it is good enough here. Each player was given a list of what was going into them. It is their responsibility to check its all legal. It's unfortunate but that is the standard set in previous cases.
IMO reduced penalties but guilty verdicts for the players is fair.
The club and individual staff shown to have involvement should be hammered.
