The people who knew things were done wrong but wanted a resolution to be fair, all have gone.

This new chairman is a thug, corporate bully and like Hird thinks he is bigger than the game. They won't stand for the sanctions that will come. This is going legal and they don't mind crippling the league in the process. They believe if they dispute the findings it will stretch the process and they will be participating in the finals. I think the AFL have a different idea.

Buckle in, this week, is gonna be a massive ride.

Ive heard this say on the radio the other day that if they do take it to court, and delay the findings and still get done in, then their punishment may then be harsher as it would include the up coming seasons which could extent their heartache.

Talking to a workmate today who is considering not renewing his membership next year if Hird gets the arse from the AFL. I must have had a shocked look on my face as he asked me what was wrong? I was dumbfounded, seriously I was lost for words. Here was what i thought was an intelligent bloke in his mid thirties with no idea!

How can supporters be so blind? Having faith and sticking by your club in tough times is one thing but sticking by your club after they have done what the bombers have is just going too far. If this was the tigers I would expect nothing less than an entire board, coaches and support staff sacked ASAP.

Maybe until you have walked in these bomber fans shoes you can't really know what it's like?

Still can't believe that nothing more was made by the media about Bombers comments from last night where he all but admitted they had broken the rules. Even more baffling is that he was sitting next to the HUNs chief football writer when he said it and yet it went through to the keeper.

What blew me away was when Hird was whinging about it was affecting peoples lives:eek:!!!

OMG!!! if they received justice the whole football world could concentrate on the footy after their probable suspensions.

Hird comes from Canberra and boy you can tell. A disconnect from the real world and how to get along with normal folk without smoke.mirrors and deception.

Seriously be surprised if Hird doesn't get sacked eventually through disillusion, And this new guy seems to be a power broker who likes to pull strings above people believing them to be puppets!!

Tomorrow night should be very interesting. I look forward to hearing what Robinson has to say.

Am stunned that Essendon actually accepted the resignation of The WEAPON, rather than keeping on "indefinite suspension of duties" (and therefore on payroll) until the ASADA verdict was delivered. If he was still on suspension, then they could have gagged him. Bizarre. Not sure if they felt that he was dumb enough to discredit himself, therefore helping his case.

Still... you gotta laugh at The Weapon. When he first arrived at Bummerland, they ****ing loved him. Thought he was some kind of rockstar. I remember Brian Taylor would jizz in his jocks everytime the cameraman went to The Weapon sitting on the bench... and l quote BT - "and there is The Weapon, the bloke that apparently that can do anything... l've heard that he is soooo good, he can find a needle in a haystack!"

Well... he found the needle alright.

:D

I look forward to watching the bombers turn nasty as they try and rip his interview and credibility apart over the next few days. I reckon this thing is about to go up a level or two

What really shows up the mentality of Essendon supporters is the fact they don't seem to care that the health of their own "beloved" players may have been put at risk by the club. Yet to see or hear one them say if it's true they'll be angry with the club for endangering their players.

As pointed out by a poster on another Richmond board today - as much as I loathe him, looks like Patrick Smith saw the writing on the wall with the Hird regime two and half years ago:

The manner in which administrations go about their business should be more important than success on the field. A winter of arrogant manipulation by Essendon means it is impossible to continue a family ritual. You cannot be concerned about what you no longer respect.

I was looking at the ladder.

Hypothetically, if essendon lose all their points. We would be better off having the pies finish above us, and port finish above the blues. So it will finish as tiges 6 th and port 7th and home final against port.

been praying for port at the 'g' for the last couple of weeks! would be rockin!

The concern for me is that if they get away without sanctions/supsensions for the processes and practices employed by the football and sports science department in 2012, it may loosen the grip on the way these departments operate in the future.

Scenario.....
Essendon face no sanctions/suspensions for the improper practices, even after the investigation is complete and the finding are released - the rumours are confirmed to be true/correct and the AFL/ASADA decide not to prosecute or sanction. They follow up a preliminary final loss in 2013 by winning the flag in 2014, 80% of the list associated with the improper practices play in the flag win..............Other clubs begin to look harder at the practices employed by Essendon knowing no sanctions were handed down based on the results and recommendations of the investigation, yet they went on to win a flag with 2 years. That particular sports science department may be requested to assist another club seeking to improve that 3-5% with means that although appeared improper and in principal cheating, still didn't recieve the full wrath of the governing bodies of the league or ASADA.

What then?

Unfortunately, IF the investigation proves inconclusively that they breached the ASADA code, they must face and cop all the sanctions that are handed out to them....If they don't, the league and ASADA may be on the wrong side of WADA, and the league cannot affort that.

You make some good points. I would believe that this has become so big that the AFL must do something.
The integrity of the game is at stake here. Severe punishment particularly for those who devised and implemented the program is necessary. A message must be sent. The punishment must be adequate to dissuade any player/club from even contemplating such an operation.

Under your scenario how would we feel if the Tiges played Essendon in the GF and lost? I will answer my own question. This would be the first time that a 'soccer type riot' would be possible. Some old tiger supporters like me would not tolerate it.

So if the perception is Essendon have escaped adequate penalty, the AFL have a problem. I would like to think that all of us would vent our anger at the AFL and all of its sponsors. That would be one way to clean the mess up and perhaps increase the penalty.

Exactly dude, we would have burnt the place down demanding heads to roll. Its strange this thing the bummer zombies are in. Its like they are hypnotized..

Wonder what will happen here.

The AFL is investigating whether a St Kilda footballer took a banned substance after an irregular sample was provided by the player early this month.

now watch how the bummer imbeciles jump all over this one like a cheap suit...watch how they start pointing fingers to the Pies and WCE now as well. After trundling out we have done nothing wrong forever and nothing is proven until the investigation is finished etc etc...watch how they goto town wanting the scum and the e-girls brought to justice...which suits us to a tee, gets rid of the 3 of them for 2 decades..perfect...;)

It's great to see the Bombers go through all this pain and if they did wrong then they deserve punishment but David Evans breaking down after a game due to stress is not something I take joy in or anyone else should. A lot of really bad people on these forums.
Hirds fault.

Saad is the dude that tested positive and is now going the bummers line, saying he took it by mistake...lmao..
And he probably did take it by mistake, I don't think anyone would be stupid enough to intentionally take a banned substance....... will still get banned if true.
