It's been like 7 years since we finished 9th...

I was more commenting that a Freo game moves about as fast as test cricket. :p

Caught the end of today's game, the Irish were just so casual about it, none of the celebrations of the last two World Cups. Reckon they expect to go through.

Who did they play again?

Oi

I watched the end of today's game too and what really surprised me was how little the Windies cared about the fact they were losing, or that there was still a chance of them winning.

You know it's true.

Yeah, they're a rabble. Gave up that game a long way out too from the look of things, Ireland got jittery late, but the Windies had let them get too far ahead of the asking rate by that point to make a difference.

They beat the WI? Wow. I thought the WIndies were decent? So the Irish are better then?

Windies have fallen off a cliff in recent times, just when you think they've bottomed out and are on the way back, they find a new low to hit.

The Windies have been weird leading up to this tournament. Like, not selecting some of their better players, and seriously just cruising even when losing today

Their board are set to go bankrupt over a $60million lawsuit from the BCCI over an unplayed series. Disaster on and off the field.

That's embarrassing. And to think of the powerhouse they used to be. What about the flog Gale or whatever his name is?

I farken hope so.

I really wanted to watch the subcontinental game yesterday....however, zero foxtel.

Some of the other big blockbuster games that don't clash with Australia's games like India v Pakistan, India v South Africa and NZ v England should be shown on FTA which will probably all get better ratings than Australia beating up on minnows like Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Scotland.

Melbourne like in the way they keep hitting new lows

Gayle is past it, too busy living the rockstar life these days to care about cricket.

He's just picked on reputation these days, hasn't made a decent score in ages.

He's there, giving zero f***s as usual*.

*on field, I'm sure he's doing fantastically off field in that department...as usual

Depends on how much it would've cost them to buy them. Takes away the need to attend too I guess, so the ICC might not like that.

It's backwards, but the ICC are too.

Melbourne like in the way they keep hitting new lows

That is an excellent comparison, they are so very Melbourne-esque.

Isn't that pretty accurate for most of the West Indies crew?

Didn't you hear Australian's only want to watch Australia, and only want commentary from Tubby, Heals, Warnie, Slats and Binga. We don't care about other teams at all. http://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2015/feb/13/channel-nine-destroying-cricket-legacy

The day Channel 9 and Cricket Australia wake up and realise the general public want to see good cricket, regardless of the team, and would actually like to know more about the other teams, will be a good day.
