It's not just their administrators though, players chase IPL and BBL dollars at the expense of playing. It's one of the more complex situations in cricket, and there doesn't appear to be an obvious answer.

As for when they weren't a rabble, probably back pre 2000 when we rolled them 5-0 in a test series, and did it easy.
They are in a bit of a pickle. Unlike the European countries, they are close to the USA and the NBA is only a loud hailer away. You lose 2 or 3 of your brightest talents to the American college basketball a year and eventually it will aggregate.

Not just Basketball. Caribbean and central American nations also play baseball, and quite well too!.

Make it as an NBA or Baseballer and you'll earn more money than a cricketer.

He'll get a 50 against Bangladesh and ......he's back.
$1.01 odds. Nothing surer. He's like ivy, no matter how hard you try, you can't get rid of the pest:D

Soccer too. Then there's Usain Bolt breaking records and making them dream of that.

Throw in 2 for not many too.

Really enjoying Crash Craddock's 'Cricket Legends' interviews on Fox Sports. Have watched Doug Walters, Wasim Akram and Brian Lara so far. Lara is in my top-three favourite batsmen, along with Mark Waugh and Ricky Ponting. Akram is in my top-three favourite bowlers, along with DK and Warnie. Both speak so well and have great stories to tell.

Lara for me too, the high backlift in beast mode... awesome

It's pretty lame that channel nine aren't showing any other games. I know the rights and all, but heck me it sucks.

I'm pretty sure Ch9 showed a lot more games during the 1992 World Cup but they didn't have to compete with Foxtel back then.

Unless you have Foxtel the World Cup may as well not be on, it's just like watching another Australia v Opposition ODI series spread over 6 weeks.

Yeah, good points.

Will they show the finals at least?

It's ok. The AFL finals are later this year for teams that finish above 9th, so the Ashes & the finals won't clash.

It's been like 7 years since we finished 9th...

I was more commenting that a Freo game moves about as fast as test cricket. :p

I farken hope so.

I really wanted to watch the subcontinental game yesterday....however, zero foxtel.

Caught the end of today's game, the Irish were just so casual about it, none of the celebrations of the last two World Cups. Reckon they expect to go through.
