Doesn't matter mate, still can do a lot of damage on his day and when fit, just watch when he is up and running.
I agree with that, if that's what you initial meant, you should have said that. But as I said, a lot of better midfielders around now than him.

I think you all underestimate Gerrard. He is only 30, you all act like he is 35. He is still one of the best midfielders on the planet and he will no doubt show that this season. That im sure of.

Carraghers name is always first on the team sheet followed by Gerrard, Pepe, Suarez and Lucas
To be fair, Carragher has been pretty solid the last 12 or so months.

Looking forward to the cup game for some of the lesser lights to shine, hoping Raheem Sterling plays.
You're still acting like he is 25 and never injured. He is one of the best influential midfielders, but I think he is on the decline. Still a good player, but not what he was.

If we are going to sign Cahill it will be this week before we play Bolton (with Cahill sitting the game out)
I don't know where this strong opinion has developed about G.Cahill being this super defender. Take it from me - he isn't better than Carragher, or Agger. So why waste another 15-20 million?

You guys are well stocked in midfield. Although some are on the way out, but you should still have a fair few stay. In theory you should be able to manage him and not play him as much so he can stay fit which will be beneficial.
Although, he'll most likely want to play every game and could break down again. When was the last time he was injury free?

He was injured a fair bit earlier in his career, but was relatively injury free for a while before this groin problem.
I think that the days of him playing 90 minutes every game are gone. He's still a very valuable player though. He'll still start his fair share of games but I wouldn't be surprised to see him used as a kind of impact player off the bench in some games.
a CB will be signed roumour has it its sebastien coates right now. think dann and cahill are too pricey. benayoun or bellamy could well join
and why would dann or cahill sign to be third/fourth choice.

Coates is just about rumored to be done which is great news. Bellamy would be a good cheap signing.

You're all nuts. Acting like he is 34 and has hardly played because of injuries. He is 30 years old, if a professional footballer of his calibre cant play 90 minutes of football at 30 years old then you're just doing it wrong. Stevie G never does it wrong. He will be fine and when fit will start and play pretty much every game.
You guys have such short memories. It's Steven Gerrard? He is 30? He had a groin problem at the back end of last season. It was operated on. You guys love to smash the panic button. Maybe Gerrard should just retire.
