Agreed. He was brilliant last night and it’s great to have him as an option but he’s not a centre back and he will get exposed if he has to play there often. If Gomez or Matip are fit they should be starting.

I actually quite like that to be honest ... 25 a good fee for now ... if he goes away and really makes something of himself, and we decide he’s proved himself to be a good enough player to lead the line for us then 37 is a cheap fee for that caliber of player.

You have to trust the coaches and I guess look at the track record of the of the academy to top class player pipeline. Trent is probably the only one for the last twenty years. And Sterling too if you count him but he was signed as a 15 year old. Jones looks likely but even the ones that look like they'll make it like Woodburn didn't work out (he was on the bench for a Champions League final!). Remember in that first Klopp half season when Ojo looked like everything? Was putting up league assists too.

Ojo showed flashes, Woodburn too, Ibe as well but I think there is a clear difference between those guys and Curtis Jones. Just the eye test alone tells you there are levels there.
