Great result, but very disappointing to concede those goals. We were so strong at the back last season, was it just Kenny's gameplan that was behind that?

Ahh well, if we're gonna win more and concede a few goals then I'll take it.

It's only Norwich people. A long way to go

It's what we've all been complaining about for years though isn't it - not being able to put away the lesser sides. We put them away in style today.

Anyway, it's not even the result that I'm necessarily excited about, it's the style we're playing with these days. I always envied Arsenal supporters getting to watch their team routinely walk the ball into the back of the net, and for the first time since I've been a Liverpool fan I feel like we have a manager who can get us playing like that.

I want Enrique to get back to where he was when we first signed him because despite GJ doing a fine job a LB, he is far better at RB. With Kelly's injury, we need Enrique to step it up again. As for Downing, I think everyone knows that come January or next summer. He will be sold.

A hugely pleasing result that I knew was coming. We were building towards that, the performances were getting better and better without the required end result. It's all starting to click now and I have huge love for BR, a lot of faith in him as a manager.

I dont want to get carried away because it is only Norwich, but the performance was extremely pleasing, the way we kept possession, knocking it around, one touch stuff, tactically sound. Just really pleasing to watch.

Pros
- Nuri Sahin - everything he does is just lovely. Scoring goals now too. PLEASE sign him permanently.
- Suso - nice debut. Going to be a hell of a player.
- Suarez - hattrick again, he is starting to get his Uruguay finishing going.
- A front three of SSS. Loved it, want to see it all season.
- Stevie, Nuri and Allen just bossed midfield. Shelvey and Lucas will only make our midfield options stronger.
- Wisdon - He looked like he has been playing for years instead of making his first PL start.

Cons
- No clean sheet. We are still conceding goals at an alarming rate. This is the only negative I can take from it. If we can keep getting our head around our system in an attacking sense and then clean up better at the back, we will be very good.

Anyways, huge relief almost to get the season off and running. Stoke and Reading at Home in our next two in the league. Time to put a run together, EL midweek too. Id expect Shelvey to play seen as his suspension doesnt carry into the EL.

GET IN REDMEN!!

How good is Joe Allen? I was of the opinion that we shouldn't have paid more then 10 mill at the start of the season but now it looks money well spent. One of the buys of the season league wide. Once Lucas is fit I think we should lineup as follows:

-------------Pepe-------------

GJ-------Skrtel----Agger------Enrique

------------Lucas-----------------------

Sterling--------Allen-----------Sahin

----------Stevie G--------------------

---------------Suarez----------------

Allen's currently doing heaps of defensive work, once Lucas comes back he can really start dictating games in the middle. Stevie G is no longer needed in the middle, he needs to play a more advanced role and feed Suarez. Similar to what he played in season 08/09 with Torres.

Negative. Teams do a pre-season and play a number of games to get themselves conditioned for the first game. If that means they aren't organised well enough for the start of the season then that is their fault. If the season started at game 6 then it would be called game 1 with the first 5 games not counting on the league table.

Great win and attacking performance, still too loose at the back and Reina continues to be something of a worry (never thought I'd ever have to say that).

Not sure why we couldn't wear the home kit - red does not clash with yellow/green?

Hopefully now that the first win is out of the way and with a milder fixture run to come, we can get on a bit of a roll.

Transfer window/players coming from international tournaments means that not every team will be ready for round 1 :)
