Yes but unless there is a change in manager or a real drastic overhaul of players, they should be able to slot straight in. If a signing is a good player it shouldn't take too long for them to adjust to the system. Managers buy players that will fit their system so they would already have some idea of their role.

Fatigue? Fine I'll give you that but players are well managed over pre-season when they get back from tournaments. They are generally given 4 weeks off and then eased into action over the first 1-2 months so they get a decent rest.

There are only 2 things I think you can argue: New players coming in from a different league so needing to adapt to a different style of game (ala Borini) and also getting used to new teammates.

LFC have had big changes recently, so we should give them a few weeks to get their act together.
Things are starting to look good for them now...

I am. I just don't subscribe to your argument.

Not my argument it was SAF's, but i agree with it.
38 game EPL season, 6 games to get yourself sorted out.

That's all well and good but as it is in our case, 6 games can mean a lot. We are already out of the race for the title and I would say we will struggle for top 4 from here without a reliable striker.

Have people forgotten the starts we've had under Rafa when we'd be shit for the first 8 league games and effectively outta a title run?

Season starts as soon as the first game starts and every game is 3 points

Sounds like something the ginsoak silly would spin out when his side loses games early

exactly. 6 straight up loses is 18 points we need. especially by the end of the season

How good is Joe Allen? I was of the opinion that we shouldn't have paid more then 10 mill at the start of the season but now it looks money well spent. One of the buys of the season league wide. Once Lucas is fit I think we should lineup as follows:

-------------Pepe-------------

GJ-------Skrtel----Agger------Enrique

------------Lucas-----------------------

Sterling--------Allen-----------Sahin

----------Stevie G--------------------

---------------Suarez----------------

Allen's currently doing heaps of defensive work, once Lucas comes back he can really start dictating games in the middle. Stevie G is no longer needed in the middle, he needs to play a more advanced role and feed Suarez. Similar to what he played in season 08/09 with Torres.
No. You cant move away from BR's system to accomodate players. I want to play Allen, Gerrard, Lucas and Sahin all at the same time too but if we do then Stevie has to be part of the front 3 like this...

Pepe
GJ Skrtel Agger Enrique
Allen Lucas Sahin
Gerrard Suarez Sterling

I think with such a strong midfield we will see Lucas, Sahin, Allen and Shelvey rotated a lot this season.

I agree but I knew the start of the season would be tough. Not only did we have Arsenal, Utd and City in our first 5 games but we had a new manager with a new system we had to learn. BR's system is something that takes time to implement. Just over the last few weeks we are really starting to see it take effect. I knew it would take time. Whilst it's been disappointing, it hasnt been too damaging. We are only 4 points behind Arsenal for instance.

Also I never thought we were a top 4 chance this season. It would be nice but with a new manager, no HUGE signings and a bit of a **** up on deadline day, I figured top 8 again and hope for EL football again. Then build on that into next season. I have a huge amount of faith in BR to get us back to the top of English football.

I know that results matter but without the poor backpass against City and the way we dominated them, we really should have won that game. We also should never have lost to Utd, Halsey robbed us. So if we picked up the 3 points against City and at least 1 we deserved against Utd we would be 8 points now and it would have been a really decent start considering our fixture list.

It's a long season and the kids are alright :)

Think the players are starting to adapt to Brod's style of play. There's a marked difference in how we're playing now from the West Brom game to this one. Personnel makes a difference, Sterling Sahin and Suso are much better on the ball then the likes of Downing and Borini. Playing more of a 4-2-3-1 than 4-3-3 which suits us more, Gerrard going forward is so nice to see

We need to get on some sorta a winning run though, we couldn't win more than 2 in a row last season or something.

You're so negative. We finally get a result our performance deserves and you still cant be happy.

im happy but idiots like you act like we're top 4 material, we beat norwich ffs.

still a long way to go. lets not get excited until we beat atleast a mid table team first.

I dont think anyone of us are proclaiming we are top 4 material. I think we are all just pleased to see us playing well (the style in particular) and the fact that the youth (Suso, Sterling, Wisdom, Coates) are making a solid contribution.

I still think we will finish 6-8th by the end of this season, I just hope that the way we play continues throughout the season and we get the desired results.

As jod said, take out Skrtels howler vs City, and the absurd ref decisions vs Utd and we should be 9 points. A reasonable start to the season. Need to win the next few games though vs Stoke and Reading

Idiots like me? You're a ****ing moron who wouldnt get excited unless we won the league by 20 points. How are we top 4 material. We are a young side developing under the guidance of a new manager and a new system.

Get on board mate or **** off.

So far ive see n the first 2 episodes they are great

This one's really interesting. Centred around the FC Gomel and Bayer Leverkusen fixtures. Shows pregame talks from Rodgers and Gerrard, Suarez signing his new contract and Oussama Assaidi & Joe Allen's arrivals at the club - looking at the waiting and subsequent relief as Swansea finally faxed through the signed transfer papers, and his squad number selection.
